“Kenyon and Carmelo carried two big burdens: all that money and no father to show them how to act like a man,” Karl wrote elsewhere in the book. Per the Post, he also described the trio of Anthony, Martin and J.R. Smith as “AAU babies,’’ saying they were like “the spoiled brats you see in junior golf and junior tennis.’’

Smith was also singled out for criticism by Karl, who used the word “posse,” that recently earned criticism for Phil Jackson from LeBron James and Jay-Z, among others. Karl wrote that the guard had “a huge sense of entitlement, a distracting posse, his eye always on the next contract and some really unbelievable shot selection.”

Such a disgraceful and tasteless book written by former NBA coach George Karl. This book just further shows how out of touch Karl is today with young athletes today.

An overrated coach. It baffles me why he would take personal shots against these men.

I think everyone that watched J.R. Smith play and handle himself on the floor already knew he had an issue with entitlement and bad shot selection. I'm not sure how saying what everyone already knows about the man is a problem. J.R. Smith could have been a lot more than he was, but he never desired to get out of his own way.

George Karl is a bitter coach that got fired from every team he coached. JR Smith is a champion that played a integral role in the Cavs Championship season.

IMO Karl is pathetic as he is throwing his former players under the boss. He is scapegoating them as the reason why his team couldn't advance to the NBA Finals in Denver.

Is that supposed to prove something when they have Lebron James on the team?

Lebron has been on plenty of teams that have not won a championship. Four of them even reached the finals without winning it.
