Who is more valuable to Dallas this year, Elliot of Prescott? Can they share the MVP trophy?

I'm hard pressed to think of a player more valuable this year than those two.

Is Brock Osweiler the biggest bust in the NFL this year or has the Colin Kap circus overshadowed his horrid play? Like above, but in the oppostire direction, I cannot think of two players having a worse season than those two.

Did Denver make the right call by dumping Brock or what? Is Chip Kelly having nightmares yet?

I have to take Elliot over Prescott. I think Elliot's presence makes life much easier for Prescott to succeed, whereas I think Elliot would succeed with either Prescott or Romo. But, as a longtime Dallas Cowboy hater, I have to admit I have really enjoyed watching them play football this year.

And Osweiler is easily the biggest bust this year, just another in a long line of backup QBs whose hype was greater than their abilities.

Elliot by a mile. Simply because I've seen it a thousand times... The running game makes QB's jobs a hell of a lot easily, especially young QB's. When/if that running game goes away, then we'll see how good Dak is.

And yes Oswiller is a bust, unless he gets on a team with a great D like Denver had last year and a system that help's him. As Sly mentioned right now he looks like yet another backup who went to another team, to another system and is being asked to carry the team. He can not carry any team, no back-up can.

1. Dak vs. Zeke: Dak is more valuable. The 'Boys OL is SO GOOD that almost any RB would thrive in that situation. Hell, Darren "Legs Made Out of Pringles" McFadden rushed for a grand behind that line last year. Prescott is having one of the best rookie seasons for a QB ever.

2. Osweiler is trash, and we knew that last year. He's probably a playoff QB this year, given how awful his division is, but he sucks.

3. There were no expectations from Kaep this year. Dude lost his job to Blaine Gabbert.

Osweiler is Scott Mitchell 2.0.

I think Prescott is what makes that team go.

No "long time hater" wants to see them win so I don't believe you. I think you've died a little with each win. :2razz:

Believe me, every time I've said, either to myself or in public, that I've enjoyed watching the Cowboys play, it's taken a piece of my soul out of me. But they are fun. I miss running focused teams. I love the idea of lining up and pounding the rock down someone's throat, to take their very manhood. Passing teams can be fun to watch too, but I prefer a great running game.

Root for the Bills! They run the ball real good and stuff.

As long as the Bills have a circus clown as a head coach, I'm out. I did used to love the Bills of the early 90s and always thought they got a grossly unfair rap. Yes, they didn't win the big one, but getting to four Super Bowls in a row in quite the impressive feat.

The Bills lost the Super Bowl all four years I was in high school. In Western NY. It was a sad time.

That said, that team was incredible. Six HOFers (including the coach), and a couple more who could have been. They just ran into dominant buzzsaws the last 3 times.

I'm no fan of Rex Ryan, but if he can get the Bills to the playoffs, he'll be my favorite coach since Marv. We're that starved for a winner.

I tend to agree with item one. A hell of an O-Line will make any running back look like Jim Brown. Where I differ is in that I also believe a good running back along with the solid O-line makes the QB look better than he may otherwise be.

I'm still trying to figure out why Chip Kelly left the NCAA. I can see fleeing Phil Knight and the Ducks. I hear he is an odd duck himself, someone who insists on getting his very own headset during games so he can hear the play calling. If true, that's nuts. But, why he didn't just move on to another college beats the **** out of me. More money in college, with a lot fewer hours. What's not to like?

Football coaches are, by nature, control freaks with something to prove.

First question:

In my view, Elliot is the superior player and more valuable player and will be in years to come. The NFL went away from a strong running game for a few years but some versatile running backs are making that turn around - LeVeon Bell in Pittsburgh is another great example, in my view. As for Prescott, I've seen far too many rookie QBs who dazzle for a few weeks and then something happens in the off season or in season and they start reading their press clippings and presume they're the next great thing. Osweiler is a perfect example of that, but there are multiple others. Just look at Carson Wentz in Philly - he was the second coming after 5 weeks and now he's pretty ordinary. Let's wait a year or two to see if Prescott's first year is like Ben Roethlisberger's and he leads Dallas back to the Super Bowl. Big Ben won his first 10 or 11 games and then lost in the playoffs but came back the next year to win 4 games on the road to win his first title. That's the kind of impression Prescott has to make for me to be sold on him as great.

As for your second question, Osweiler is clearly the biggest bust because you have an ownership group in Houston who signed the guy to $17 mil a year without even meeting the kid and while Houston has had some injuries, Brock is the primary reason they have had a mediocre season. Brian Hoyer would have brought them a similar or better record. Kaepernick on the other hand has been mediocre for a few years now - probably related to the 49s losing Harbaugh to Michigan. He did look pretty good in the 49s almost comeback in Miami last Sunday, throwing 3 TDs, so maybe he's about to rediscover the kind of talent that brought them to the edge of the Super Bowl a few years back.

Gruden said something interesting this morning, which can be applied to the Dak/Prescott equation. He said he still believes Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the league, but the Packers' lack of a running game makes his job all that much harder. Add to that their terrible defense, which forces Rodgers to constantly play from behind, and it's easy to see why people see him as having lost his touch.

He also cited a stat: 2016 Rodgers has better numbers than 2011 (MVP year) Rodgers. I found that fascinating.
