Nba 2017

Sure - the Raptors have one Canadian on the team, the rest are Americans. Just waiting for Adam Silver's apology letter to arrive and his claim that refs are right about 90% of the time. Unfortunately, for the Raptors, the other 10% of the time they're screwing the Raptors.

That's it for me - I'm done spending any time or money on the NBA until they start firing officials for blatant incompetence and bias.

NBA is an odd duck. I try to get some of my friends and family to enjoy it like I do, but I usually fail in that effort. They immediately say the games are rigged. And, these are fans of the NCAA, so it's not like they do not understand basketball. They just see the obvious favoritism given to the stars, and all the horrible calls stick out like sore thumbs.

It was a bad deal, but it makes it more a possibility that Wiggins comes back home to Toronto when his rookie deal and time is up.

It all depends on how much credit you give Love for beating GS last year. A title is worth any trade, even if you end up trash for a decade, like the Celtics after Garnet, Allen and Pierce got too old. And, the Cavs are not going anywhere once LeBron gets old anyway.

Cavs didn't win first year when LeBron insisted they trade Wiggins for Love, and Wiggins has progressed a lot since coming into the league - he'll be a bigger star than Love ever was or will be. But yes, winning a championship is important. One could argue, however, that the league wanted Cleveland to win because the final 3 games of the finals last year were officiated brutally in favour of LeBron.

Timberwolves' Andrew Wiggins: Goes 2-of-19 from field Wednesday - CBSSports.com

After racking up at least 22 points in a six-game span from Nov. 8 to Nov. 17, Wiggins' shooting has betrayed him over the past three games. He's scored no more than 14 points in any of those contests while going a combined 9-of-48 (18.8%) from the floor and 0-of-11 from three-point range. Wiggins is too talented not to turn things around in the scoring department sooner or later...

I'll defend the Kevin Love trade for Andrew Wiggins based on:

1. Wiggins and LeBron play the exact same position. The only way it would work is if Wiggins can play the point/forward position and play lock down defense the way Scottie Pippen complimented Michael Jordan.

Based on what I have seen from Wiggins, his weakness is his defense. It will never be elite. He very may become an all-star player, but his strength is his offense, which never would have been showcased playing next to LeBron James.

Wiggins would not have been mentally prepared to play big minutes in the playoffs. It's easy to score a lot of points on a bad team. It's much harder to be a role player on a very good team, especially if your role doesn't showcase your strengths.

3. Kevin Love has been a better player than Wiggins the past 3 years. Wiggins doesn't know how to play winning basketball. He maybe putting up points, however the Timberwolves haven't won many games the past few years. Obviously that isn't all his fault however his team has enough talent imo they should be at least a .500 team.

If the Cavs had kept Wiggins they would not have made the NBA Finals in 2015 (should have won if healthy) and certainly would not have won the title in 2016. In 3-5 years the Timberwolves maybe crowing how good Wiggins is while LeBron and Kevin Love (if he's still on the team) are on the decline however it is not necessarily a given that Wiggins will be a star.

He's a good player however I see a lot of flaws in his game. In 3-5 years I can see him being an all-star player but I am skeptical if he is going to be top-5 elite player like LeBron, Kobe, Durant, Curry, etc...

It was a good trade for both teams.

Wiggens was too young to be relied on for a championship team that did not need a slash and dash player who cannot play defense. They had that in Irving--who has learned to play D quite well, I must add. I also do not see Wiggens grabbing rebounds like Love can.

As we see above, Wiggens' jumper is too erratic, and he sucks from three point range. Cavs are a three point team with Lebron and Thompson owning the paint while the long range shooters like Love, Smith, Dunleavy and Frye spot up. Add to that mix Irving's multi-faceted game, and it's easy to see why Wiggens would not fit in at all.

I have a lot of issues with CanadaJohn's posts. Kevin Loves last year with Minnesota averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists and had a 26.9 PER - which basically means he was a legit MVP candidate.

Wiggins is nowhere close to that and plus his team isn't winning. He's going to need to diversify his game - meaning doing other things besides scoring. He's only 21, so he has a lot of time however at this moment he's closer to Rudy Gay than even Carmelo Anthony.

Wiggins is lucky though because they brought in a coach that specializes in defense and they were able to land Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns is clearly the best player on that team. He is actually averaging more assists and steals than Wiggins, and he's 7 feet tall!

Towns is the T-Wolves best player.

Towns is the real deal. Wiggens can be anything right now. If he has drive, he may be a future Kobe or Michael like superstar. But, I haven't seen that at all, and he is two years in. If anything, I see him as an underachiever like Vince Carter: highly talented but lacking that certain something, primarily the willingness to play lock-down D. But, time will tell.

The league is so crappy right now, that I would think a team with two legit superstars like Wiggens is supposed to be and Towns clearly is would tear it up. That they do not proves Wiggens is not.

I watched the first quarter of the Cavs Dallas game last night. Man, did that game suck. I hope the Cavs don't fall asleep about 60 games into the season as they play these ****ty teams which they beat by 40 points and fail to turn it back on for the playoffs.

NBA regular season really sucks.

Once again, the Raptors get hosed by the officials in a game. Last night, in Sacramento, Ross hits a buzzer beater 3 pointer to tie the game and the officials decide that the clock keeper made a mistake and didn't start the clock fast enough and so while the shot was taken before the buzzer, the refs decide it was actually too late to count and they end the game. They don't admit it was their mistake that caused the problem and the clock should have been reset and the play taken over again, as in every other sport where that kind of official's error occurs - no, in the NBA it's league practice to job the Raptors and then apologize for it after the fact.

The NBA is a ****ing joke.

The Raptors will likely loose Kyle Lowry so there goes any hope of the Raptors keeping pace with the Cavs in 2017.

If the Raptors were smart IMO they should trade Jonas Valanciunas and Iman Shumpert to the Cavs for Terrance Ross and Kevin Love.

In the offseason try and whoo Stephen Curry whose dad played in Toronto.

A big 3 of Stephen Curry, DeMar DeRozan and Kevin Love could make some noise in the eastern conference.

Dreaming, but who knows? Curry doesn't come as a "premium dollar guy" and he's a east coast kid from North Carolina (rumor is the Hornets will go after him hard) while Love's aloof attitude would fill in Toronto.

I have heard to Hornets being a threat to sign Curry but I wouldn't want to be associated with such a bad owner in Michael Jordan. Everything he has done as a owner has been a disaster.

Raptors have no interest in Kevin Love and Lowry will likely resign with Toronto, since he likes it here and Toronto showed him respect trading for him and then signing him to a good deal when he was considered a bit of a trouble maker elsewhere.

The only talk here that I've heard is that the Raptors may be interested in J J Redick with the Clippers and trouble maker DeMarcus Cousins with the Kings. Both could help the Raptors and both would cost the Raptors significant pieces on the current roster, JV likely part of any deal.

The Cavs aren't likely to make any changes this year, looking to repeat with the same roster. Curry would be great in Toronto and we loved his dad so he'd be more than welcomed here, but that's not likely to happen. Seems, unlike baseball players, many basketball players seem to have "legal" issues that would make getting the required permits to "work" in Canada could be an issue and many of them don't like crossing the border and customs so they are not inclined to sign in Toronto.

Curry in Charlotte? Maybe not a bad idea.

I'm not sure how Kemba Walker and Curry would coexist.

I don't see how Curry, Thompson and Durante do with Curry being the lowest paid of the three.

I would be very difficult for the Raptors to attract any superstar player or retain their current players due to the tax issues in Canada:

"When I got traded from the Bulls to the Raptors, I got introduced to the Queen Elizabeth tax hike," Rose told cohost David Jacoby.

In Ontario, a person with a taxable income of $220,000 or more pays 33 per cent in federal income tax and an additional 13.16 per cent in provincial income tax.

It doesn't make much sense dollar and cents to play in Canada. Especially, when you have a Prime Minister praising communism.

You don't want to be rich in Canada... they will tax you.

I believe this is why Canadian hockey teams suck nowadays. The stars leave for the states because they can keep more of their money here.

Man, that Giannus guy on the Bucks is a stud. He torched the Cavs with almost 40 tonight. 4 or 5 steals and a boatload of boards. If he ever learns to hit jumpers, he'll be unstoppable.

Reminds me a little of a young Scottie Pippen, but more aggressive.

Clips vs Cavs tonight. I'm hoping for a good game.

Klay Thompson: 60 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

Impressive in 2 1/2 quarters.
