More than talent, it's toughness that is needed to be a QB in the NFL. The ability to play through injury and having the guts to stay on the field for the team, it's not a common trait. Cutler lacks it; McCown has it.

Petyon Manning came back to play several more years after having plates inserted in his neck. Joe Montana came back to play after almost being killed by this big moose--I think it was Leonard Marshall.



Hell, even Joe Theismann tried to comeback...and he had his leg snapped in half by LT. Cutler goes out with a boo boo.
 
Nothing new. Cutler has had this rep for years. IIRC the biggest criticism was in 2011 or so against Green Bay in the playoffs.
