So, When Will One of these MMA Guys Die?

You're changing your position. You tried to claim boxing may have more long term damage, but not fatalities. Now you're showing an article talking about long term damage and not fatalities.

Which position do you wish to argue?

The article is talking about trauma not long term damage. Getting hit in a defenseless position after already being knocked out like what happens often in TKOs is extremely dangerous. Boxing is much more popular and has better athletes so it's really hard to give a comparison also with the alternate win condition it can skew the stats a bit. Obviously there is very little risk in facing a submission specialist.

But not fatalities, which is what I thought you were discussing.
Which is it?

Getting hit in a defenseless position after already being knocked out like what happens often in TKOs is extremely dangerous.
Umm, that happens in boxing also.

Boxing is much more popular
I do not know that I agree with this. In both cases, it's going to depend quite a bit on who's on the card.

and has better athletes
I 100% disagree with this.

We agree on this.

Fractured skull from a knee to the forehead. hmmm? That can't be good.

Evangelista 'Cyborg' Santos says he suffered fractured skull in Bellator 158 loss

I still can't believe we call this a sport.

While every sport has risks of all types (immediate and after-the-fact type injuries, ailments, and deaths), I don't like the few-rules that go with certain MMA presentations. Not all presentations and classifications permit things like elbow and knee strikes to the head for safety reasons. I prefer that they don't. For one, it's an unnecessary risk. For another, it most often ends matches due to blood in the eyes and other non-skill elements. That's not what I want to watch.

With the right UFC, I've found myself watching MMA less, eventhough I love it - when it's technical and about skill and mastery, not knees and elbows to the head.

I just see how an intentional knee to the face can be pretty...uh, damaging to the face and skull. Maybe we can reintroduce sword fighting, but without the protective gear.

Already been done. A couple thousand years ago.

Nearly all "civilized" societies have had their blood sports. It seems to be a necessity for humans. If it's not doigs, chickens, or bears, it will be humans.

MMA fighters know what they are getting into, and voluntarily choose to do so. So do Everest climbers, and their risks are far higher.
