Anyone interested in UFC? Anyone looking forward to the Tate - Holm fight coming up in March? CM Punk's debut? Jon Jones return?

You guys are lucky to gain access to watching UFC.

Oh crap I just started a UFC thread before seeing this. Cool that one exists, though it's a little small.

I'm looking forward to seeing Holm fight again, I'm a fan after what she did to Rousey, didn't look like anyone was capable of beating Ronda and Holm smashed her.

I think Jones should be banned from UFC, the guy is way too irresponsible plus a dirty fighter to boot. Go Courmier.

CM punk is funny, check out Nick Diaz' comments on him. Plus he's no Brock I guarantee that.

I'm very interested in Jon Jones return. I want to see how his size gain will translate in a five round fight. Cormier showed excellent cardio improvement vs Gus so it could be fun.

I watched UFC from the beginning when it was on vids.
I went to one live in vegas.. tickets are. priiiicey.

Now there are so many rules I think its lost a bit of its raw simplicity but it is still cool to watch a bit.
The womens fights I do think have become interesting .. partly because they didn't initially include women, but also because there are some seriously trained and capable women involved now.
So yea I'm looking forward to that and assuming Holm wins, a rematch with Rousey will be cool to see too.

Just saw the highlights here:

I dislike women fighting in UFC.

I just do not like his eye pocking:

If he leaves that aside he seems fine:

CM punk is funny, ....

I checked CM Punk:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jRbvfHYAyk

I have not seen him much. All of these I only get to see by Youtube only :(

check out Nick Diaz' comments on him. Plus he's no Brock I guarantee that.

I checked him:

I find him to be a provoking, non-guarding, high stamina, boxer, which I do not consider much. I think Jones can kick his ass. Did the two fought?

Who is Brock? :(

Back in the day I had access to UFC, Randy Couture use to be a good fighter:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r7x5u-wfb8

Randy was amazing dude, he didn't start in MMA till late and still was a champion like 2 or 3 times. When he beat Tito Ortiz that was huge, back before Tito really dropped off. Randy was like 10 years older than Titio too.

How is that fighting artist Sylva doing?

You mean Tim Sylvia? If that is who you mean, he put on a lot of weight, was at 370 and they told him he can't fight anymore for health reasons.

Or Anderson Sylva? Can't fight anymore, though in his prime, IMO, the "spider" was the best fighter in the history of the UFC.

What

Anderson Silva cannot fight anymore?! That fight artist! Why oh why? What happened?!

I believe he broke his shin, or something like that. Pretty bad break.

But I agree, Anderson Silva stands out in my mind as hands down, the finest fighter ever to walk the octagon. Strong, huge degree of technical skill, as comfortable on the ground as he was standing up, and he striking was something on another level. Some of his earlier fights with Rich Franklin....he made the dude, who was/is an honest to god, PROFESSIONAL fighter, look like it was his first time in the ring. I mean, he just DESTROYED his opponents with an almost casual ease. These guys were the best of the best, and he defeated them, many times without even getting hit clean ONCE in the entire mach. Pretty amazing.

Yes, I agree.

Did he broke his shin in the octagon? Do you know which match was it if it is the case?

Followed the UFC since it"s inception. Pride also. Many fans love the violence, but I would rather see a great come from behind submission (I don't mean a rear naked choke). I think that the general public doesn't understand that these fighters are extremely skilled and well trained athletes.

That's why I like the specific people that I like...because I watch them, waiting to see what amazing thing they can do next. Like when Anderson Silva drops his hands, and presents his face, and just....dodges, left, right, left, left, right, left....punch after punch, coming from a professional fighter...show boating? Yeah, a little. But no less amazing to watch.

Or when Matt Hughes repeatedly picks up and SLAMS an opponent CLEARLY larger than he is. Or when Randy Couture defeats a guy who has 6 inches reach, and stands over a foot taller than him, for the heavy weight title, using nothing more than skill, experience, and perfect timing.

I tend to not like watching the heavy weights, I like welter and below, honestly. Feather weight fighters, especially, tend to be matches of technical skill, especially when it goes to the ground. You see some amazing **** happen in the feather weight fights.

Pride was awesome, that's really where I got into MMA. Just heard some sad news that Kevin Randleman passed away. He was in Pride and also was UFC heavyweight champion. He's was a champion wrestler, and has one of the most famous slams in MMA history against Fedor.

I liked when Pride and the UFC competed against each other. An annual super fight between the organizations at all weight classes would have been great. Sad to hear about Kevin Randleman.

Fedor actually moves from that slam!

I like McGregor and Miesha Tate a lot. Holly Holm too, can't help but respect her humbleness.

Holly and McGregor both lost their titles today. Can't say I really saw that coming. Loved Miesha's speech afterwards, showed lots of respect for Holly.

I was shocked when read about this when I woke up earlier.
