Nfl 2016

Wow! Three teams fight for the right to beg to move to LA. SD, Oakland and StL all filed yesterday.

The Rams have the LA tradition and the owner has deep pockets - they should get the first choice.

Plus it will put all the NFC West teams in the West.

I agree. The Rams should be given first dibs. But, stuff is so corrupt these days, you can't bank on logic anymore.

I feel for the fans in Stl. As a Sonics can it hurts big time.

That's true, but it's no different from the Rams fans in LA who lost their team to St. Louis decades ago. St. Louis is a great sports city, but something's wrong if it can't keep an NFL team happy and prospering there.

The Raiders were in LA for a long time as well. I grew up watching Raider games in the Colosseum. I remember when Al "Crypt Keeper" Davis moved them back to Oakland and we were all calling them the Oakland Traitors.

F The Ram fans. They rank worst in attendance. St. Louis should stick with the Blues and Cardinals.

Johnny Football is an alcoholic-plus....there is only "me" in that equation.

He's either a serious alcoholic who is out of control or he's doing it on purpose to ensure he leaves Cleveland.

I doubt he is that smart. Plus, why put that much doubt in everyone's mind? After all, he screwed any chance of signing a huge contract with his next team. I think he's just an immature drunk, low functioning alcoholic.

Davis took the league to court and won on his relocation moves - that doesn't make the dead man's team a favourite in the relocation discussions. But if there's another threat to sue the league if they block a San Diego/Oakland joint stadium deal/move, the league may buckle. But I understand the league has approved the Rams move, so we'll have to see.

Must be something in the firewater in Texas, considering all the affluenza circulating there.

I would hope the Cowboys would opt for drafting the Cal QB or Paxton Lynch instead.

Cowboys need a real GM and a coach who is more than just Jerry's bitch.

Jared Goff ain't going to fall to Dallas. Unless they trade up, I see Goff going to Cleveland at No. 2.

I think Lynch is a reach at No. 4.

And the Bucs fire Lovie Smith. Why do these teams keep hiring these coaching disasters?

The best teams in the league do an exhaustive search for a head coach, one who they can live with for at least a decade based on things like temperament and team management philosophy, not a mesh with the players they currently have, and then they stick with that coach through the good and the bad because they know that no team wins every year. More traditionally successful programs like Pittsburgh, New England, NY Giants, Green Bay and now newer teams like Seattle understand that a really good coach can build a culture and an environment of winning in the locker room that will survive the players that come and go. Baltimore is a prime example of that philosophy this year where the team ignored calls to replace the coach based on a losing record. They'll be a much improved team next year.

These teams aren't wedded to the pieces they have but are wedded to a philosophy of expectations of whomever is on the team - and they replace those that don't fit. Pittsburgh and New England are models that other teams should follow, but ownership such as that in Cleveland never seem to learn.

Hopefully the Lions are heading in that direction. Our owner since the 60's, William Clay Ford, died in 2014 and his wife took over and cleaned house (for the most part) once we started consistently losing, then we started winning again. We just hired New England's scouting director, who's been with them his entire career, for our new GM. We'll see.
