College/High School/Olympic Wrestling--2013-2015

Nickal wins by fall. PSU are champs. The OSU kid had a good double leg with backpoints coming, but he maybe pushed a little too hard and Nickal was able to put OSU on his back. Great move by Nickal, but I still don't like the guy.

Speaking of David and Goliath....heavyweights next.
Hard to conceive of Olympic champ Snyder as David, but Coon's 6 inch, 55lb advantage makes it a fact.

Oooops... jumped the gun, 197 next.
NCSt kid in finals.
NCSt has really done well in this tourney.

They’ll both be in the 2020 Olympic unless they get hurt. Too bad we don’t have 220 at the collegiate level, for all the best reasons; including never having to use tie-breakers if a dual ends up tied ...

NCSt wins on late takedown. Other kid was the aggressor, but got outmaneuvered.

My Mom-in-law goes in and out of knowing me now. It’s easier for us spouses than her kids. I wouldn’t have survived without my Wife with both my parents. My Mom has been on the namenda/aricept regimen for 6 years. They said we’d get 5. I suggest this for all elderly.

We just had a loss of memory bout followed by meanness. I got mom out of it. My wife cried. She’d never seen it quite like this one.

Getting old is hard. At least we’re getting old ...

1-1 in 3rd. Snyder had good penetration, had to back out.

Snyder wins on late TD. Coon was leaning forward, Snyder shucked him/threw him by and got the win. Great match.

What is this regimen?

I think there is a confusion factor. People get disoriented and feel threatened, so they lash out. Loved ones are the nearest available targets.

It beats dying young.

I struggle linking on the iPhone. I’ll get you the link when we get home. Type in ‘namenda aricept combo’. Great lincs on search.

Mom in law snapped into a mode I’ve seen before. Wife was shocked. Never saw it before with her Mom. I knew it right away. I knelt down in front of her and told her loudly her daughter and I had been married 28 years. She smiled again. She’s also losing her hearing. Wife is shook. I told her what I posted to you. She’s better now. See how internet life is real life.

It beats dying young.

It sure does. Assisted living saved us with my Mother ...

This I like.

Well-handled.:)

This I like.
I’m considering that name change.

Thanxxx. It was remarkably easy. It’s like, why does it take this for the best part of me to come out? I outdid myself with the kids and her family was grateful. I was thrilled to just be with the kids.

Tell you what, I really have to work at it with that age group. We all have our own special niches ...

Checking this out, found this....The Frightened, Angry, Anxious, Mean Dementia Patient | Alzheimer's Reading Room

From the piece......

"I don't remember reading anything at the time that alerted me to how very fragile Alzheimer's patients can be; or, how easily they can become confused.

Once confused only one of two things happens: difficult or impossible to deal with; or challenging behavior."

Saving this one for my Wife and her family. These lapses are so unpredictable that she needs 24-hour care now. One of my latest -isms is ‘who cares for the caregivers’. I call my health people regularly to tell them how good I’m doing. They NEED to hear this. That is their intrinsic reward ...

Just calling you to the old wrestling thread so other folks might see the semifinals on ESPN. Three good finals so far for tomorrow night.

Other folks? It's you and me homey. Everyone else is in hoop land.

The interview with former NFL star Matt Mullen was good, especially about the benefits of football players wrestling.

Didn't see the interview, but several hwt NCAA wrestlers have gone on to pro football careers. Carlton Hasselrig and Stephen Neal come to mind. Quick feet help in both sports.

These reviews have been going Penn State’s way for a few years now. Hidlay’s the only one that had a shot at Nolf. Not now.

I love the reviews in all sports. I like to think they help get things right. Unfortunately, errors are still made. Nothing is perfect.
Hidlay maybe waited a little too long in the 3rd.

Pulling for the 8th seed at 65. Always go for the under dog. Although, since he beat Marinelli, he may not be much of an under dog after all.

He did. It was a nice series at the end though.

Wick screwed up taking top in the 2nd period. Like I said, Lewis is another Myles Martin, who’ll be up later. World champ who has beaten Marinelli. Not an 8th seed.

World champ and an #8 seed. The guy was 26-2 coming in. Maybe the seeding committee felt he hadn't wrestled top notch collegiate opponents this year?
I dunno.

They say it’s by computer, yet they say they can adjust on their own.

Zahid looked great on his feet. Lewis is a tough rider.

Penn State counter wrestles in neutral. Hall does just enough.

Good on his feet, a little too much length for Lewis. Sometimes Valencia tires late, but he did look good.

Edit: #15 seed up next. Pretty exciting.
