Oklahoma City news anchor apologizes for saying black co-anchor looked like a gorilla

"I want you all to know from the bottom of my heart, I apologize for what I said. I know it was wrong and I am so sorry," she said tearfully on air.

An Oklahoma City morning news anchor delivered a tearful apology to her black co-anchor after she said in a previous segment that he looked like a gorilla.

Alex Housden of KOCO 5's morning news said on air Friday that she wanted to apologize not only to Jason Hackett, her colleague, but also to the community, according to a video of the segment.

Thought not formally a part of the Confederacy, Native American tribes in the then so-called Indian Territories did fight on the side of the South. I guess those feelings still run deep in OK. Save your Confederate money boys, the South will rise again!'

Wow. Unless she saw him one day going around naked on all fours eating shoots and tubers, I cannot think of any situation in which it is appropriate to compare a black co-anchor (or any black person for that matter) to a gorilla.

Great, people just cannot seem to think before speaking.

There ain't no amount of lipstick that is going to keep this pig from being sold off at the market.
Sometimes, in an industry like that one, perhaps it is best to just move on, maybe take a break and knock on some doors down in maybe Sherman, TX. You can still live in Oklahoma if you do that one, by the way, it's just across the border, and you might make some great friends down there in Texas, by golly.

KXII TV-12, Sherman TX - a Fox Affiliate!
Fox is a lot more forgiving, they might even like you!

Really ate both feet with that one.

On the other hand, this is the age we live in.

Virtue signaling is the order of the day.

IMHO:

1. By saying those words, the lady showed that she and he are genuine friends.

2. That is to say, when she looks at him, she does NOT see his color. She sees just another person. If she had had a Caucasian male co-anchor with the same facial characteristics as a gorilla, she might have said the same thing in jest.

*****

3. Of course, she is guilty of terrible insensitivity. Any idiot (even one like me) would have enough sense to NEVER make such a comparison.

4. I hope that she can keep her job. I think that he would agree.

The pressure for the apology arose from the social distinction between the two co-anchors. While they may be equal on paper and hold the same position, everyone knows that one of them is subjected to social pity that the other is not.

A white progressive Democrat lying to trash non-white Native Americans in your message. No surprise there. Some Native Americans fought for the Union. Some Native Americans fought for the Confederacy. Some Native Americans were neutral or otherwise stayed out of it. Some switched sides along they way - whatever they thought best for their tribe. They didn't care who won other than gambling how the outcome could affect them and picked sides - or not - accordingly.

Of course, as a white progressive Democrat you falsely try to portray non-white Native Americans back then all as Confederates because hating on non-white people is the thing for progressive Democrats to do. Racist was the origins of the Democratic Party and remains at the very heart and soul of the Democratic Party to this day. That is why the Democratic Party and so many Democrats continuously obsess over race.

Nothing is more important to the Democratic Party about a person than whether the person is 100% pure white or a "person of color" - going back to the Democratic Party's "1 drop rule." Anyone who isn't 100% of white ancestry therefore is an inferior non-white person as will all be all their offspring for every generation after them through eternity.

You as a white progressive Democrat despise Native Americans so started a thread a false claim in support of that hatred and racism. That is completely predictable.

I dont think her comment had anything to do with his physical traits as much as it was about his personality. She was calling him a ham in a light hearted way and it never occurred to herthat she was comparing an african american to a gorilla. Her comment was not racist. This is a good example of the problem with the pc crowd.
