Man jailed after found with 3D-printed gun and 'lawmaker hit list' - BBC News

A Dallas man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after he was found with a partially 3D-printed rifle and a hit list of US lawmakers.

Eric McGinnis was prohibited from possessing firearms for two years after he attacked his girlfriend in 2015.

You could sense that this 3-D printed gun thing was going to go nowhere good. This guy couldn't legally buy a gun after assaulting his girlfriend so he bought the plans, a 3-D printer & made one himself. Not surprising that he lives in TX.

Can we take a guess as to which party he would shoot up?

Go for it, but be prepared to look stupid

“the list included the names of both Democratic and Republican federal lawmakers.”

There is always going to be someone doing something stupid with technology, and then there will be cries to take it away from the rest of us (familiar territory.)

 My guess is both Republican and Democratic. But it isn't a guess because I cheated. I actually read the linked article in which it says his list is Republicans and Democrats before considering posting anything about the linked article.

Huh...didn't I say that people were going to start 3D printing their own guns? Oh wait...yes, yes I did. I got scoffed at and told it was never going to happen or "its too expensive". Well lookee here....

Now...are those of you that are against guns..ahem...sorry... for "reasonable gun laws".... going to finally start trying to actually solve the underlying problems instead of going after inanimate objects that can't cause anything because they're inanimate objects?

He still didnt print a full 3d gun he printed part of a lower which still took some intricate assembling to do its certainly no different than buying an 80% lower and using a cnc machine. The 3d printing aspect has nothing important to do with the story and is just a scare tactic really

What if he guessed both parties? He would actually look pretty smart.

It isn't a story at all without the 3-D ptinting angle. That's what makes this news.
What kind of 'tactic' do you think this is? Whose tactic?
