Shahid Shafi and party leaders rejected the effort as prejudice

Republican officials in Texas on Thursday night voted down an effort to oust a local party leader because he is Muslim.

GOP precinct chairs in Tarrant County, which includes Fort Worth, rejected a proposal, 139-49, to remove Shahid Shafi as vice chairman of the party there.

Good, it was a dumb move.

Good, at least some of them have common sense...there are no requirements to be of a certain religion to be in politics.

Good, kind of a stupid move, kind of like most California lawmakers.

The opponents said that he is an advocate of Sharia Law. I would want to vote that out also.

Well that changes my opinion. They were right to try and oust him.

But is it true? That's the question. Most people who don't know, think all Muslims are for sharia law. They're not.
