The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the leading newspaper in the third-largest county in Texas, on Friday endorsed Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D) in his Senate race against incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R).

“U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz represent the hard left and right of American politics,” the editorial board wrote. “Neither stands in the middle ground, where the real work is done to lead America.”

“But only O’Rourke seems interested in making deals or finding middle ground. That is why the El Paso Democrat would make the best senator for Tarrant County’s future, and the future of Texas,” the editorial board continued.

I have a feeling that Ted Cruz's days are numbered. I will be watching this one in the November results.

Seems unlikely. Texas has been polled an insane amount the last month and even the Democrat internal polls have Cruz up 4-5%. And I don't think the newspaper endorsements mean that much for whether Beto wins or not since in 2016 those three papers endorsed Hillary, Hillary, and "Not Trump," yet Trump still won Texas by 8%.

Umm . . . can't say as it's looking good for O'Rourke.

I already bet a poor sucker on this site that O'Rourke will lose.

TEXAS TED will win now that Trump is fully onboard.

Ted will probably squeak out a win, but in a supposedly solid Red State the elections are getting closer and closer and I would bet that Texas being all Red is coming to an end. Not good news for the GOP.

Also, money the GOP has to spend in Texas defending Lying Ted is money they don't available for ads in other tight races.

I’m not worried about it. When TEXAS succeeded from the Union, Sam Houston was called up to cast the first vote. They finally agreed to do it without him.

What do you base THAT on?

Also all that money that Beto is spending is not available to spend on people who might possibly win.

OOPS!

Cruz is nothing but a coward. Trump insults him, his wife and his father, but all cruz does is lick trumps ass.

You can say that also for the dozens of republicans who are going to lose.

I have no information that the R's have been doing as poor a job of allocating resources as the D's have been doing in the Post Trump Era.

lets just say you have no information of any kind.

Nope- Dems are plateauing at around 45 or so

Rudeness seems to be a trait of yours.

You are on thin ice with me.

Lets go big mouth, post the information you have. Obviously you have nothing, as usual

If Cruz loses he can always hope for a revival of his previous tv show.

Pictured below without and with make-up.

It will be more than a squeak my friend. And no there isn't any real signs that Texas is turning blue anytime soon. But hey we all have to dream! :)

In other news Abbott is leading the Texas governor race by 20 points.

Maybe shouldn’t bet all your money just yet

Wait a minute!

Didn't Hillary say some nasty things about Barack Obama? Oh!!! Obama not only put her in his cabinet, but he also endorsed and campaigned for her in 2016, even over his VP Biden.

It is called politics.

It's Texas. We can depend on Texas to stay 10-15 years behind the times.

Not the politically smartest people on 2 legs. Just sayin'.

Gawd bless Texas anyways. Yehaw.

More excuses is all you have. Cruz was treated like no one else, yet back he come to kiss trumps butt. To Cruz his job is more important than his family

How soon people forget!

Barack Obama's campaign team accused Hillary Clinton's beleaguered staff yesterday of mounting a dirty tricks operation by circulating a picture of him in African dress, feeding into false claims on US websites that he is a Muslim.

David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager, described it as "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election". Obama has spent much of the campaign emphasising he is a Christian not a Muslim and did not study at a madrasa.

I can assure you, Mitt Romeny, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, and Marco Rubio would never join the trump cabinet.
