[W:25]O'Rourke rakes in $9.1M online in August

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/407828-orourke-rakes-in-91-online-in-august

Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D) is raking in cash in his Texas Senate race against Sen. Ted Cruz (R), bringing in $9.1 million in August alone, according to a new federal filing from ActBlue.

The three-term House Democrat turned heads earlier this year when he raised $10.4 million overall between April and June. Cruz brought in about $4.1 million in the same timeframe, and has raised a total of about $23.7 million so far this year.

Big deal. A politician raking in millions doesn't mean he's gonna win.

And i wonder where that money's coming from. $100 says it's from Liberal Follywood and/or Soros. Kinda hard to relate to the common man when you're getting dough from morally-bankrupt rich celebrity assholes.

Yup. Another Texan.

I heard someone describe Texans as being 'bats**t crazy'.

I used to travel to TX on business, mainly Houston area. One evening I had a customer out to dinner at a very well-known restaurant in town, Brennan's. I requested non-smoking. The place was mostly empty so they had closed down the designated area for smokers. Well, in come a group of well-heeled businessmen & get seated at a table very near us. Of course they started smoking. When I complained to the waiter, the group of Texans got a big kick out of that & ordered themselves a round of cigars. This is why I don't go to TX any more.

I hear ya, I have to go to TX from time to time for business, thankfully its been San Antonio and Austin, as for the rest of the state? No thanks.

You wonder, but you don't look up the facts? Typical Conservative.

The bulk of O'Rourke's campaign funds have come from tens of thousands of individual contributions, a fact that the campaign has touted as proof of its grassroots appeal. The average donation to the campaign earlier this year was $40, the Center for Responsive Politics notes.

O'Rourke also does not accept contributions from corporate PACs, joining a multitude of Democratic candidates who have sworn off PAC donations as a form of political corruption.

As Dallas continues to grow, Asian population grows, Latino population grows and their kids become eligible to vote, Texas Demographics are a changing. An anecdote race isn't gonna change that, sorry.

Apparently the Democrats didn't vet him well.

What astonishes me is that nobody is talking about O'Rourke's remarks at Prairie View A&M on Thursday during which he claimed that police are the new Jim Crow. Shaking my head over that.

I don't think people in Texas are going to vote for a guy with 2 DWI's and a burglary record. Burgling Beto kind of writes itself.

To be fair, it's about the issues. Texans don't want firearm restrictions, higher taxes and open borders.

Texas Latinos are way more Republican than California Latinos. A high Latino turnout is not a death knell for a Republican. I have noticed a slight shift in the rhetoric here in Texas from stopping "illegal aliens" to stopping human trafficking. It's much easier to present the SAME POLICIES as solutions to human trafficking. Is anyone here in favor of human trafficking from open borders?

Trump has been campaigning for 'Lyin' Ted' which could be Cruz' kiss of death.

O'Rourke is certainly a good candidate.
