Most of the expense for the sheriff’s department came in overtime pay for deputies. The county paid out $764,278 in overtime during the month — more than it paid deputies in the regular wages, which amounted to $715,170.

The overtime costs were not the only expenses for the county, which patrolled the area between Sept. 26 and Oct. 26 near where the prototype walls were constructed.

Adding it all up, the county paid out $897,942.22 in overtime, supplies, consultant and permit costs for the project. With the $715,000 in regular wages that would have been paid anyway, the total comes to $1.6 million

I take this as proof that we have either liars or incompetents on the job.

EDIT: I see that I calculated wrong, but still this is a **** ton of money spent to protect a tiny patch of land.

You also have to understand that in California anything not welded down will be stolen.

Those are all very ugly, and expensive.

It's almost like a Miss Universe pageant. Seven contestants modeling their assets, and the judge gets to pick one. No dressing room peek a boos though.

I like the idea of the invisible wall. Most amazing wall ever.

And that they tend to deeply dislike Trump and any building of a wall, and that we are in "The ends justify the means" times so truth is not necessary, and that Cali government tends to suck.....

If government needed $4K an hour to do this because they cant get their act together they should have contracted security out.
