IBM say commitment to Texas will be 'reevalutated' if Bathroom bill passes.

So, a couple of bathroom bills about transgender kids is up in the state legislator in Texas. IBM says that it will reevaluate it's commitment to Texas if those bills pass.

That's a heap load of money to pull out of Texas.

IBM has been downscaling in Texas for the past 15 years. Their "commitment" is BS to begin with. Just a scare tactic from a company that is have trouble adapting.

Companies have that freedom in this country - influence legislation with their money. Some do it with direct campaign donations to politicians, and others do it through threats to harm the average citizen by killing jobs and other investments instead. Both practices have their good points and their bad points.
Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made. If you want a different result, don't blame someone else, or expect others to make a change, you should stop complaining and make a different choice. Remember, the circumstances of your birth don't determine the outcome of your life.

IBM stock dropped 4.2% today and has dropped by just over 20% just since March. They just had a weak earnings report and financial analysts predict more deterioration. It would cost them money to relocate. this is just an attention grabber.

That's a heap load of inappropriate influence for a corporation to bring to bear on a state gov't. Kinda makes you wonder where they'll be welcome, and what triggered that welcome.

    Oh FFS !

IBM can go get bent then. Who wants a corporation who puts a poorly disguised social justice iniative over the rights of millions of women and girls in their State anyway ?

Our ex-Mayor, Anise Parker tried to push through her bathroom bill by decree but was forced to put it up for a vote after concerned Houstonians called her out on her BS

Her bill, which would have allowed Men who identify as women access to girls and womens restrooms and dressing rooms was voted DOWN.

And Houston elects Democrat mayors too, has been for ever.

Texas's bathroom law gives millions of women and girls a voice in a issue that directly affects them. How dare Conservative Texas do this BS

Its a good law, and Yay Texas for continuing to be the shining beacon of common sense for our Nation !

The Texas women I know (more than just a few) all oppose the bathroom bill.

    Then theyre wrong too.

Mayor Anise Parkers bathroom bill was put to a vote in Houston, a City that elects Democrats, after she tried to force it onto the residents of a City she supposedly represents

It was voted down, and many of those votes were from women.

Good public policy doesnt risk the safety and privacy of women and girls to give a small minority preference based on their chosen sexual identity

Good public policy is supposed to be predicated on the greater good, not on pushing social justice initiatives that cater to a tiny minority

I live in Texas, and Im positive our legislature knows whats coming after this law makes it to Abbots desk. Outrage and threats of boycotts and lively protest and everything else the Left wants to throw at us.

But theyre going to pass this law anyway, not because theyre biggots but because they're taking the concerns of all Texans into consideration and not just the SJWs who are pushing this narrative.
