    Rain!!!

We finally got a little moisture in Tucson. I don't want to get overly excited but it was drizzling when I went to bed and it's still drizzling this morning. There was even a little thunder last night.

It's been bone dry out here for a while and this little squirt of rain is a godsend. I have a couple of barrel cacti that were starting to look a little peaked so that will tell you how dry it's been.

Good news. After the past few weeks out there, I'm sure it's a welcome relief.

Yes. That being said, most people don't have a lot of plants that require much water. Cactus and Mesquite trees do amazingly well with very little water. Golf courses tend to be the only place you commonly find grass. My next door neighbor does have grass in the back yard but it's a patch about 20'x50'.

Isn't the monsoons more of an August thing?? I remember many years back, When I lived in Tucson, We would have one of those famous lightning storms, I would race down to a Clients office and Disconnect the mainframe from all of the terminals,, Otherwise somehow lightning always seemed to find a path to the I/O board and fry everything...They were wicked..

If we as a society demand that our police be perfect,,, Why don't we demand it of ourselves?

Yeah, but your heat isn't 116 degrees for 5 days straight.....if you had that, you would get monsoons...but, probably not because of the ocean.
