Wave of illegals push TX town to breaking point...

Yet you give little credit to Mexico stopping the vast majority of these people at their southern border.

Isn't Mexico's northern border the issue?

McALLEN, Texas (AP) - Officials in South Texas say they're struggling to continue providing services to a fresh wave of undocumented immigrants crossing the border.

City leaders in McAllen say a support center at Sacred Heart Catholic Church saw its busiest month in October since opening two years ago, with more than 5,600 immigrants recorded.

McAllen Mayor Jim Darling tells The Monitor newspaper that the city and local groups have spent nearly $1 million over two years to provide showers, tents and other needs.

The Rio Grande Valley leads the nation as the region with the most apprehensions of undocumented immigrants since 2014.

Then stop providing for them! Pretty damn simple!

I'm surprised Hillary isn't down there handing out voter registrations.

Show me where Hillary said that she wants to increase ME immigration by 550%.

The issue of what percentage of an increase in the number of Syrian refugees being granted asylum in the United States Clinton would prefer has been one of the most prominent issues regarding immigration in this campaign. The White House announced in August that the United States had admitted 10,000 Syrian refugees, the upper limit in the number acceptable to the Obama administration so far.

A month later, Clinton said in an interview on CBS that she believed that number to be far too low. “I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in,” she said in September.

The website Politifact, checking Trump’s claim that Clinton was seeking a 500% increase in the number of refugees from Syria, found the actual number based on her September statements to be 550%.
Fact-Check: Yes, Hillary Clinton Wants a 550% Increase in Syrian Refugees in U.S. - Breitbart

Politifact searched through some of Clinton’s previous statements on the issue and found this gem:
During a Sept. 20 appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation, Clinton was asked if President Barack Obama’s plan to increase the number allowed into the United States to 10,000 was enough. (The United States had accepted about 2,000 in 2015.)
“Look, we’re facing the worst refugee crisis since the end of World War II, and I think the United States has to do more, and I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in,” Clinton said.
“A jump to 65,000 would be a 550 percent increase,” Politifact says.

By her own words and simple math.

Which random catchphrase?

There should be no illegal crossings when using capitalism, well regulated.

We could virtually eliminate the black market for labor with a market friendly work visa. Why are we not capitalist enough to make money off of foreign labor wanting to try their luck in our markets?

Sorry,

You said something?

I couldn't tell with all the spam in the way.

What I could tell is that you did not answer the question as to which catchphrase(s) you were accusing me of using.

I am not the one spewing random catchphrases, now am I?

yes, you are; you are simply too incompetent to discuss political issues.

Which random catchphrase are you accusing me of using?s

You shouldn't be able to support yourself on a minimum wage. Not comfortably. That may be a bitch to hear, but The reality is that is economically bad. We need more jobs that are above minimum wage. Not more fast food jobs.

why should you not be able to?

only the fantastical right wing, never gets it. no wonder, no one takes the right seriously about economics.

Mexico is a transit country from SA as well.

Yes, and Central America. If Mexico is doing so well controlling its northern border, great--but it's the southern border that matters to me.

No credit to Mexico.

Mexico is stopping the illegals at their southern border because they are oh soooo happy to empty their own sewer through their northern border to the dumbass Americans who view the Mexican rejects as some kind of treasure.

I was referring to Mexico's southern border. 10's of thousands arrested and deported by Mexico.

What we know about illegal immigration from Mexico | Pew Research Center
More non-Mexicans than Mexicans were apprehended at U.S. borders in 2014, the first time on record this has happened. In fiscal 2014, 229,178 Mexicans were apprehended, a sharp drop from a peak of 1.6 million apprehended in 2000. The decline in apprehensions reflects the decrease in number of unauthorized Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S.

Even as border apprehensions dropped, deportations of Mexican immigrants reached a record high in 2013 of 314,904, up from 169,031 in 2005. This is due in part to a 2005 shift in policy that has increased the chances of being deported following apprehension in the border region, instead of just being sent back without an order of remov

I do treasure your contribution to the boards civil discussion.

Immigration from Mexico is way down, and may be negative.

What you are whining about is the Drug War moving north, as you sow, so shall ye reap.

My bad--still on my first cuppa. :3oops: I reversed northern and southern. Obviously, the concern for U.S. border states is what Mexico is NOT doing at its northern border to stop their citizens from crossing our southern border.

Not a problem, we were up early. As to the Northern border, patrols on both sides, long border, hard to cover. 1 thing though more Mexicans are returning to Mexico due to jobs being created.

I hope this is so; I really do. In the meantime, our border is far too porous.
