Poll: Bloomberg overtakes Biden in Florida | TheHill

Michael Bloomberg is leading the pack of Democratic presidential hopefuls in Florida, according to a new survey from St. Pete Polls, a sign that the former New York City mayor has picked up traction in a crucial swing state before most of his rivals have even started to campaign there.

The poll shows Bloomberg with 27.3 percent support in the Sunshine State, up 10 points from a similar poll released late last month. Biden, meanwhile, has seen his support in Florida plummet, falling from more than 41 percent in January to 25.9 percent this month.

I want to see him debate The Donald of Orange, he of the raccoon eyes.

Pitiful comment about the story. Just so full of Trump hate. "The Donald of Orange, he of the raccoon eyes."

Don't you understand how that damages your thread? Nope you don't!:confused:

Anyway Biden is a dead man walking. His campaign is dead in the water. Big money folks are fleeing away from him.
Looks like Bloomberg is buying his way to the nomination.

Good

Bloomberg is in every way a better politician and a better human than Donald Trump.

He's more of a puffer fish tone..

Has anybody out there actually met a Bloomberg supporter? Someone that is like "Hell yeah, Bloomberg is my guy! I love his policies and he really inspires me!". You always hear indirectly about how popular he is on the internet but there's never really any evidence for it. He doesn't bother to show up to debates, he doesn't canvass, he doesn't bother to get on the ballot, and he doesn't campaign around the country.

The only people that really want Bloomberg to run are Bloomberg and Republicans. Being a billionaire does not make you qualified to lead and thinking you can buy an election without putting in the effort or hard work of campaigning is disgusting and one of the worst examples of political swampiness. Stop trying to pretend he's running and that he has a chance, he isn't and he doesn't.

Surely this too shall pass.

Bloomberg is well like in Florida because a lot of people from NY ended up there...

Yes! I have one close to me. He told me he was a Bloomberg supporter several weeks ago. He's young, Caucasian, educated, but with a very practical working-man's attitude even as he goes about a non-working-man's professional life. He's a disenfranchised Dem who believes he is a "Conservative", but in my estimation he is really a politically moderate and reasonably compassionate & sensible centrist (with conservative Catholic social values). He's very much a capitalist, and is a pretty good hustler. He doesn't worship money, but he always has his eye out for it (a quality that reminds me of me at his age, and resonates well with me!).

He told me he likes some of Trump's policies, but cannot stand Trump. He loves Bloomberg's policies and the man himself and his personality (how he gets around gun control is beyond me - he loves guns!).

So there you go. A real-life Bloomberg supporter that likes Bloomberg for who he is and what he says.

Lol, a self-labeled conservative likes him and that's your best example. Kind of hilarious and largely proves my point. Do you not see the issue with Bloomberg not going to debates, not canvassing, not campaigning, not doing any of the actual hard work a presidential campaign requires? He's rich so that's enough right?

Hang tight here, RapidAlpaca. I wasn't taking a stance in my post. You asked, and I replied.

But now that you have me here, and seem to want to delve into this, I indeed have been swinging towards Bloomberg the last several days. And yes, it's mostly predicated upon my belief that he's the guy that can beat Trump.

You can't underestimate the prime importance of this to many of us, especially Democrats. This is a reflection upon how many of us believe Trump is the worst President we've seen in our lifetimes. So bad, that there's virtually no one who could do worse. We'll take the guy that we believe can do the job (of deposing Trump). We have nothing to lose. Really. It's a no-brainier.

It's just funny that your response to me saying only Bloomberg and Republicans want Bloomberg to win you give an example of a self-declared conservative supporting Bloomberg.

Your argument is essentially you're so upset with Trump that you'll support outright swampy corruption. You'll ignore the fact that Bloomberg won't debate, won't canvass, won't campaign around the nation and won't make his case to the American people. His behavior is outright plutocratic and I can guarantee you he won't get the nomination and if he did he wouldn't win the election. Swamp vs. swamp does not give us an advantage, people will just stay home, like me. Ffs, he didn't even bother to get on the ballot in the first couple of states.

a couple hundred million is ads isn't "campaigning"?

Buying ads is not the same as actually presenting yourself and your ideas to the American people. Showing up to debates, canvassing states and finding out what are the issues of normal Americans. Do you believe the rich like Bloomberg should be able to just buy their way in while the rest of the candidates have to put in real work day in and day out? Where the hell has Bloomberg been during any of this?

Campaign ads=campaigning. Just because he isn't doing the same way as everybody else does not mean he isn't campaigning. His company hawkfish already knows what your issues are. It is a whole new world of big data and politics.

The bolded is a bit of a mis-characterization of my position. I believe Trump is so bad for the country, that I am becoming willing to take a risk on Bloomberg. That is, unless I see something that would lead me to believe he might be worse than Trump. But I must say, Trump holds an extremely high bar here in terms of "bad". Bloomberg would really have his work cut-out, for me to come to believe he is worse than Trump.

FYI - I was initially anti-Bloomberg, and posted here to that effect. No differently than I once explored supporting Trump (again posting here), until I got wise. My positions do evolve based-upon events & knowledge attained.

And Trump isn't?

The problem Trump is going to face with Bloomberg, is nothing Trump can say about Bloomberg will not be reflected back upon him to perhaps an even greater degree. Except that Bloomberg has more legit chops and accomplishments. Being self-made, for one. And building a media empire, for two.

Remember, Bloomberg's life and empire is media. We may find he is the most media savy and organizationally savvy guy among the players. More than Trump or the Dems. Have you seen the organization he's put together? The data infrastructure? The guy is doing a ton of things behind the scenes. I'm blown away by his organizational skills to do what he accomplished in such a short time. This guy can organize!

Supporters of traitor trump are very afraid of Bloomberg. Their BDS is now on full display.

My sense is that your response says more about the current democratic field ex-Bloomberg than it does about the man himself. Yes he has excellent credentials to run on. Three thime mayor of the financial capital of the world. Self-made multi-billionaire. Strong anti-gun record. Big time philanthropist etc.

That being said, the key at least to me in presidential elections is voter turnout. No better example than how HRC lost the key Midwest states that you are more an expert on than I. It will be very interesting to see if a NYC billionaire who happens to be Jewish can get out the vote in the Midwest and with minorities. I would be shocked if the country was reasy to elect a Jewish president.
