Men discussed opening fire at pro-gun rally in Richmond, say officials

The English translation of "al-Qaeda" is "the Base".

Bit different than getting their name directly from al-qaeda. Rising sun can be translated to fit any language, did you get that name from translating from another language to english?

can't agree
they are Constitutionally entitled to their hateful, extremist, backward opinions ... and should enjoy the free speech provisions to express them

Shall we give the same consideration to ISIS? Of course we dont

i was under the impression you were educated to recognize that believing a white supremacist ideology does not entail an adherent to run over people with cars
people can and do believe in white supremacy without becoming violent actors

They just usually do. White supremacy is not just an ideology that uses violence. It is baked into the cake.

If "Rising Sun" was also the name of a foreign terrorist group, albeit in another language, would someone be correct to point out that fact?

Men discussed opening fire at pro-gun rally in Richmond, say officials | TheHill

Three suspected neo-Nazis who were arrested this week in Maryland and Delaware discussed opening fire at a scheduled pro-gun rally Monday at Virginia's state Capitol, according to local law officials.

Three other men were also arrested in Georgia this week and have been linked to the same group as the men who allegedly planned the attack at Virginia capitol.
==================================================================================
All six of the men are believed to be connected to a violent, white supremacist group called "the Base," The Wall Street Journal reports. The Georgia trio was arrested Wednesday for conspiring to murder a Georgia couple.

These guys were quite active in planning & organizing their activities. Opening fire in a crowd in front of the VA State House might have been a lot worse outcome than Charlottesville.

Is the left sad it was a peaceful rally?

Exactly. Even putting aside the foolishness of the notion that Government can be trusted to reliably identify and suppress "dangerous" thought, the power you give the State to suppress the thoughts you don't like will be the powers used one day to suppress you.

We already do this with al qaeda and these same people dont bitch and moan about tyranny.

They would be wrong to say they got the name from them unless they can demonstrate that. The base is a neo nazi org, al-qaeda is an islamic terrorist group.

White people join white supremacist groups and commit mass murder- mental illness, jihadis join al-qaeda-terrorist org

Shall we give the same consideration to ISIS? Of course we dont

We actually do, bomberfox. Saudi-funded mosques that preach Salafism and Wahhabism in the United States teach everything that ISIS does, word-for-word with the exception of an outright call to violence. But it is just a hop, skip and a jump from imbibing this hateful dogma to joining a Salafist terror organization like ISIS or al Qaeda.

It is no different than being taught to believe that white people are superior in every way to every other ethnic group, that other ethnic groups know this an conspire to keep white people down, and that the only way to overcome this is to create a white ethno-state...but then leaving it up to your imagination as to how that is achieved, even if no statement promoting violence is ever spoken.

First, it was a joke. Second, I do not realistically think the frickin' Nazis stole the name from al-Qaeda but the coincidental names is funny.

FWIW, I'm surprised you are defending the Nazis on this matter and I'm certain they appreciate your concern that the Nazi nutjobs are not affiliated with Islamic nutjobs.

I was there all day, and there are many reports out already with the truth about what happened. Nothing controversial happened. There was apparently one arrest because someone wouldn't remove a face covering or shawl for police when asked. There were many many people there with face coverings for the cold weather. There many people there armed to different degrees. There were many blacks, some Asians and even a tiny group of Dems who support the NRA. I didn't keep count, but many more than one or two. Clearly a minority, but definitely had a presence. I never saw any Antifa types or other anti-gunners. Well I did see a single dude walking down the street with a cardboard sign that said "Gun laws save lives". Probably a counter to the "Guns save lives" stickers the Virginia Citizen Defense League (VCDL) was handing out to everyone. People were polite, even saying "Excuse me" to each other as they moved in cramped spaces. The place wasn't trashed up at all, like some rallies by other groups have done. It was fun. We had a buffet breakfast at one of the hotels right there. I was part of a group of six friends that went. I had other friends that went, but did not have a chance to meet them. We stopped for a beer in Williamsburg on the way home.

The headlines leading up to the rally couldn't have been more wrong. The VCDL has been holding this rally on MLK Day since around 2002, maybe earlier in a less formal mode.

Thanks for the reporting, sounded like all went well. Sadly in the end the Legislature there and Gov are not listening. Best you can do now is replace them next election, thinking you will have a good shot at that.

In 2016 Virginia violent crime rate was lower than the national violent crime rate average by 45.21% and the state property crime rate was lower than the national property crime rate average by 24.13%.

Maryland has strict gun laws and in 2016 the state violent crime rate was higher than the national violent crime rate average by 18.88% and the state property crime rate was lower than the national property crime rate average by 6.78%.

It isn't legal gun owners that should be punished, they should punish the individuals with illegal guns.

The violence promoted by their belief that white people are not only superior but have the birthright to rule over the world and cleanse the world of other races. The violence is promoted and baked into the core of the ideology. Ethnic cleansing is violence. The garden variety racist does not show their intention to commit genocide, the white supremacist does.

The main thing i cant understand is if we are so gung ho about declaring groups like ISIS terrorist groups why are we so incensed by the mere suggestion of calling the biggest terrorist threat we face right now in terms of incidents and casualties the same? Why is it when it involves white people, we shout freeze peach at the mere suggestion of calling terrorist groups what they are?

No pun intended?

I doubt that your question is sincere or serious, but I'll respond. ISIS terrorists are killing innocent people for a political purpose, supposedly. Frankly I don't believe all of that. Anyway that's not what's going on in the US. Your attempt to make this about white people demonstrates your disingenuousness and ignorance of the subject matter. Furthermore, good luck tying the vast majority (or even a minority) of gun shootings to force a government into political change (unless you want to believe that there's a conspiracy of liberals executing school shootings to promote gun control). You want to believe that all white people are neo-Nazis or supremacists, which is another example of you disingenuousness. All you have is rhetoric, and no facts.

Plenty, you say.

*snicker*

Since I was there, I would know better than you; who was probably getting your news feed from Democratic Underground in Miami.

Nazis kill people for a political purposes white supremacists kill people for political purposes. The only reason the ****ing hannity chuds get all offended when they spent years whining about calling a spade a spade is because its white folk. I doubt you are ever sincere or serious. Plus its hilarious that you say i am dishonest yet you twist my words in a very dishonest manner. Suck it up, the stats are on my side and they dont care if you are butthurt. Dismissed. I honestly could give a **** less what you believe :D

"Plenty"

Think about what that word means, and the tiny amount of diversity present.
