He will be spending more time with his family and running away from the orange idiot in the WH.

Roe told the Johnson City Press last month that he would base the decision to run for a seventh term on "personal" reasons and not political factors like President Trump's impeachment.

Good riddance.

Hyperbolic nonsense.
The man is 74 years old, and unlike prune face Nancy who can't let the gavel go, Roe has a personal life to live outside of DC. At any rate, he's not leaving until after the election so it's doubtful that he's running away from the "orange idiot in the WH".

Ah so only one year older than Trump... Time for Trump to leave.

Isn't Trump about 74? He lacks a personal life?

At least some House Republicans have the decency to leave and give a chance to someone else to "represent the people."

The Democrats, however, have members who make a career out of the place.

The Republicans also have career politicians - both sides do it. The four longest-serving Representatives are all Republicans, of the top 10, five are Repubs and five are Dems.

GOP - Don Young, Jim Sensenbrenner, Hal Rogers & Chris Smith

For those who wish to check out the facts - Seniority in the United States House of Representatives, Speaker Pelosi is #11

Democrat Patrick Leahy (D-VT) is the longest-serving Senator at this time. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is the longest serving Republican, 6 years less than Leahy's time in the Senate.

I support "term limits" -- 2 terms for Senators and 6 terms for Representatives.

Absolutely!

And we need term limits for the Supreme Court, too.

*****

Of course, term limits are no panacea.

Here in Los Angeles city and in the state of California, we have term limits.

So career politicians simply go from one position to another.

It's all a fun game to them.

"Public servants," my foot!
