11 people shot on busy New Orleans street | TheHill

Eleven people were shot in the French Quarter of New Orleans early Sunday morning, police said.

The New Orleans Police Department said in a statement that officers are investigating the incident, which took place shortly before 3:30 a.m., adding that an individual was apprehended near the scene. But the department said that the individual's "possible involvement in this incident remains under investigation."

N'Awlins is a tough city. I used to go there every year for a big sales meeting in their Convention Center. Lost a new London Fog overcoat (stolen) & lost $100 while being mugged on bourbon St.

1. My deepest sympathies on your being a victim of violent crime.

2. We Americans know what cities to avoid besides "N'Awlins," but I always worry about naïve international visitors.

a. I feel that foreign governments have the duty to warn their citizens about dangerous American cities.

They do warn and then we complain how much 'they' hate and lie about us. Then again even cities with low violent crime rates can have these mass shootings... :peace
