OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — A former Mississippi sheriff who admitted to extorting bribes from a drug dealer was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison.

U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills also ordered former Tallahatchie County Sheriff William Brewer to forfeit $42,000 and serve three years of supervised release.

Supervised release? All those African-Americans that he put in the slammer were going to throw him a surprise party.

Since LEO's are a high risk for being attacked in prison he will be put in protective custody at first. But eventually he is going to be exposed to the prison population.


He will not be welcomed with open arms.

I wonder how many times he scoffed at trying to improve prison conditions because the people he put in prison deserved what they got.
 
Supervised release sounds like house arrest, not prison.
