Louisiana man arrested on 100 counts of first-degree rape | TheHill

A 71-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested on suspicion of 100 counts of first-degree rape, Rapides Parish law enforcement announced.

Harvey Joseph Fountain was accused of sexually abusing numerous juvenile victims in Pineville, La., in the 1970s and ‘80s, and was arrested last week in connection with 50 counts of first-degree rape. As the investigation continued, he was booked on an additional 50 counts.

While most of his assaults were committed in the '70s & '80s, there is no statute of limitations for this crime in LA.

How could someone do that? So much...for so long. What was he, a gymnastics coach?

Maybe a preacher?

...or a white man raping black girls.

Really? How does that work? Do the cops not incvestigate or what? Are the girls too afraid of the police to report it?

Yes. We're talking the 70s and 80s, not the 00s and 10s with which the Millennials are familiar. Sad, but **** like that happened in parts of the country. I'm just glad justice is being done.

The linked article is devoid of detail, but yeah - how the hell does this happen?

There are entire documentary series on how little police agencies care about the rape and murders of black children. Cops chop it up to street violence and ghettoness, predators of all races get to feed. The public is blissfully unaware, so nobody ends up caring.

When a white girl disappears, you get Jon-Bennett Ramsey and Madeleine McCann 24-7-365 days a year worldwide coverage. They're media friendly. When a black kid goes missing they might be on a few fliers for some weeks, but nobody will care after a few days.

It takes documentaries highlighting the lack of resolution police departments bring for anyone of any power to do anything.

In this country 2,000 children go missing every week. No outcry, no outrage. Granted some are the result of domestic custody issues, some runaway of their own volition from abusive parents, but the rest???

The greater question, why are you surprised? 100 victims, or 1,000 victims over decades. Is there a difference? Is he unusual? How many bodies are buried where they will never be found, and why does no one care? Guns don't account for this violence. Yet it is worse than the occasional shootings that make the media between siblings or school mates when parents get careless with their guns. It is far worse.

A few years back, a young girl's body was found in a suitcase, discarded in a city park in the Bronx. Who was this poor girl screamed the headlines? Less than 10 years old, emaciated, obviously bearing the scars of abuse. How could this happen? Who was responsible? Where were our social services for this girl? After her body was discovered, a NYFD unit adopted her, paid for "Little Mary's" burial, and some people wept. Eventually, her crack whore mother was identified after multiple prostitution arrests, as well as drug possession arrests from dna, as was her pimp father, another crack user who both admitted to the abuse and death, discarding of the body. Both died from HIV prior to trials.

One girl's body in a suitcase, discovered by a workfare worker cleaning a park, stumbled upon, and now forgotten. One child of 200,000 each year.

Yet we hear daily decrying and accusation over illegal immigrant children separated from illegal immigrant parents, and we see photos of starving children amidst the wars and slaughters of Africa, Asia, Europe, the mideast, wherever in the media. And the collective guilt is supposed to mean something because we live well. Yet our own, who cares? No shocking headlines, just swept under the collective rug, and you ask how this could have happened?

Don't mistake this for a diatribe against gun control, for it isn't. Nor is it a diatribe against you for being surprised by a headline about a serial rapist and murderer. It is only an unveiling of the hypocrisy of our priorities as determined by the media and our politicians from both sides of the aisle. Shock and outrage is a manipulative tool. And everyone contributes, either by words or inaction. A question of the freak of the weak. (intentional sp)

Kenley Jones is my former brother in law from my first marriage.
He was the NBC Atlanta correspondent on the case.

I'll have to check and see if he's in this new docu...sounds fascinating.

His victims were not the children of crack whores with pimp daddies.

Who said they were? Only you would make that extrapolation. Not thinking beyond the obvious. Does the economic/social strata lessen the vulnerability of the victim?

From Chinatown - "She is my sister, she is my daughter, she is my daughter, she is my sister!" as wealthy pillar of the community father/grandfather beckons his latest victim, "Come to me sweetie, sweetie come to me."

The torture, rape and murder of children is an everyday occurrence in this nation, crimes ignored, swept under the rug.

A headline from yesterday "Mom arrested for having sex with her two teenaged daughters' boyfriends." One of the boys, fearful of her husband's reactions spilled the beans.

From the day before, "Middle School Teacher acquitted after admitting he seduced two students, sues to regain his job."

"Body of freshman high school student found floating in river." Police investigating homicide, no other details released. Child not reported missing by parents or school authorities after more than a month missing. From a nice middle class neighborhood.

Open your eyes, if not your heart.

Yes, there is a difference. It's highly unusual to see such a high number of "perfect" crimes of this nature committed, without apprehension.

It is only unusual that this perp has been found out and caught.

No, most people that commit rape against 100 victims get caught; 99% of them get caught. So I don't know why you're pretending most people get away with it. Oh, actually, that's to belittle the crime, like your crack whore stories and other BS.

It's a 'birds and bees' thing, Chomps. I'll pm you with the details.....@ sarcasm....:)

Horse manure.

These discuss reported rapes. Not those of unknown missing children.

"Little Mary" was a prominent story in the headlines of NYC media for almost six months less than a decade ago. You are an outright ignorant liar, a supporter of crimes against humanity inclusive of kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder of children.

You pushed the crack whore story to belittle the crimes in the OP, the topic of the thread. It was disgusting racist garbage intended to imply that raping black girls is not so bad.

Wrong again. Only you are the bigoted party here. The victim's race was never mentioned, she was white. Only you would suggest that there are no white crack whores and pimps. Now we know you are also a committer of verbal hate crimes. :lamo

~"Hey, folks, pay no attention to the white rapist with a hundred victims that wasn't caught because of racism in our justice system. Look over here at this crack whore! Do you think she cares if her child is raped? So what's the big deal."

That's your post herein.

She's dead. Doesn't care.

No. The words you are trying to put in my mouth are your own, not mine.

Child victims are ignored in our country. If it isn't a headline you don't give a damn, because you are on the side of the criminals. You are disgusting.

You want to bury this injustice resulting from racism and point at black crack whores to dismiss it.

This thought is a product of your vile mind. Do not ascribe it to me. And you forget, I'm not white. Speaking out about a greater injustice, and a greater perspective never hides any criminal actions. It merely delegates it to the absence, with this case, of so many more murders, rapes, torturing and so on that exists and is ignored by disgusting fools like you who habitually hide behind false accusations and plain ignorance.

Show me my words where I ever said "black crack whores." You can't. It your own purposefulness because you are a habitual liar.
