DeSantis is a pretty bad guy. There are several issues of blatant racist comments with this guy.

That being said, I'll be surprised if he doesn't win the election. The farther north you go in Florida, the redder it gets. Couple that with rich white old people and Cubans, and you have a Republican's dream.

Yeah but Hurricane Michael, has devastated that area. IDK if voting is the first thing on their minds.

I voted for Gillum today! I did not vote for him in the Primary because I didn't think he had a chance. Based on his impressive primary results and the most recent Polls, I predict he becomes Florida's next Governor. We shall soon find out!

Gillum's inner sanctum knows how to bring out the vote.

I heard his opponent on the radio today claiming Gillum was caught taking bribes from some FBI undercover operative. what's that about?

gillum needs to make a compelling argument why he wound up with hamilton tickets obtained by the FBI agent posing as a developer
ditto for his resort vacations with same
if he paid his share, then he needs to show it

are there any GOP candidates you actually support?

Is it really that shocking that I don't like Pro-Trump Desantis? I also would probably just troll vote for Gilllum (if I lived in FL) even though I don't support everything he says. Gillum at least is more normal. I haven't liked many candidates on both sides especially since the GOP has gone full nutcase in a straight jacket and Dems don't seem to have a message. Even Romney is continuing with his flip flopping.

Rumor has it he has been sprinkled with “Hillary water” and is immune from prosecution.

well the US attorneys in Florida are Trump appointees if the FBI is involved. so a federal grand jury would be under the control of a Trump loyalist.

Gillum, a brother of his named Marcus, a lobbyist named Adam Corey and an undercover FBI agent saw the play Hamilton together. The FBI agent provided the tickets. The FBI agent set out to sting the lobbyist.

Gillum has not faced indictment. You, as a former federal prosecutor, would understand the nuances of entrapment far better than me and maybe everybody else who posts in this Forum. Gillum claims his brother Marcus handed him a ticket.

what does the FBI agent say about the disposition of that hamilton ticket?
ditto for the vacation excursions taken with the candidate

Only in the panhandle. Most of Florida didn't get anything from Michael.

I live maybe 5 miles from the debate site (east coast). We had a little rain and a couple of days with < 30mph winds - aka, nothing.

I don't know the FBI agent's name or what the agent has had to say about the Hamilton tickets or a vacation excursion with Gillum. Do you have pertinent information to share?

i was hoping gillum would give us documentation to show he covered his own expenses
without that my assumption is that he did not

I'm actually curious about this, myself. NeverTrumpGOP just doesn't come off as a Republican or conservative to me, and I'm not just talking about today's GOP, either.

You might have a much clearer picture than I do of the relationship between Gillum, the lobbyist Adam Corey and the undercover FBI agent. I assume the lobbyist demonstrated a willingness to violate a law or laws in pursuit of fulfilling an objective. I have no clue about the nature of the objective, Gillum's role or the undercover agent's role. If the undercover agent paid for and gifted the Hamilton tickets and/or vacation accomodations, this, IMO, tinges the investigation by calling into question issues of entrapment and complicity.

When it comes to the current political climate and an FBI investigation, Desantis more than Gillum, again IMO, has more allies in power positions to influence said investigation. I would think Gillum's detractors would want to use the investigation as much as possible right now ahead of the General Election to disparage Gillum.

but without clarity that gillum did not receive personal benefits from the lobbyist/FBI agent posing as a developer, then that speaks to gillum's lack of integrity and character
even if he does demonstrate that he paid his own way regarding the tickets and the junkets, he has diminished himself and his candidacy by providing the appearance of impropriety

of course they would. and gillum gave them the very means to do so
that is disappointing

Huh? So still you provide few if any specifics on the FBI undercover operation mission. Please get back to me when you can cite a statute or statutes you believe Gillum might have violated.

I believe any money spent to the benefit of Gillum as a result of that FBI undercover operation pales to the roughly $145,000 of taxpayer money apparently spent by Desantis for travelling.

Then you were indicating while the Democratic candidate may have accepted personal benefits from the lobbyist and the FBI agent posing as a developer his violation of integrity was not as bad as his republican opponent's

Maybe in your mind, not in mine. I probably have at least 20 years more time living in Florida than either Gillum or Desantis. Whatever went down between a lobbyist, an undercover FBI agent and Gillum, you certainly did not provide a credible explanation that clearly implicates Gillum of unethical or illegal behavior.

I believe Gillum has considerably more integrity, more political competence and a greater capacity to improve the common welfare of Floridians than Desantis (a Chump acolyte). I can't prove it... and I didn't need to prove it to vote. I consider Gillum, by far, the better choice. This time around I have already voted for him. Governor Gillum has a really nice sound to it... don't you think? Big Grin!

I contrasted the amount of money involved with a Hamilton ticket and a vacation to Costa Rica with the amount of taxpayer money Desantis apparently spent on travel. The former probably added up to at most a few thousand dollars; the latter added up to about $145,000.
