WASHINGTON (Reuters) - State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey won the Republican U.S. Senate nomination in West Virginia on Tuesday, beating former coal executive Don Blankenship and calming the fears of party leaders who thought the brash ex-convict would spoil their chance to pick up a Senate seat.

Has anyone noticed that it's a big victory for Republicans that the DIDN'T select an ex-con to run for Senate?:lamo
 
The guy who won the primary, Morrisey, and his wife are former lobbyists for some major pharmaceutical companies that greatly contributed to the opioid epidemic. So in a way, Republicans still elected someone that is somewhat responsible for the deaths of West Virginians.
