It appears to be a bit of sad irony when Trump got elected due to a desire for change...
...and now a majority of the country appears to hope he will change soon.

Sounds logical, but I'd submit it was Bannon and Trump who played Mitch.

Why do I think something like that never even crossed his mind?

I dont know that,,,,they acted chummy in recent months but I have no information that they had ever met or talked till this year. I just spent 5 minutes trying to validate your claim but could not.

I think you are correct about Bannon. Part of the strategy.

OMG, I am just now seeing that Rush agrees with me:

I also knew what was gonna happen. I knew why Trump endorsed the loser. I know why Trump endorsed the loser from the get-go. I did tell you that. He endorsed the loser because at the time it happened he was trying to buy appeasement with Mitch. Trump frustrated, canít get his agenda done in Washington, thought he would try appeasing Mitch McConnell.

This is the obvious answer in my opinion. It is about loyalty, Strange made it clear to Trump he was going to back him so Trump gave his support. Trump ran on "anti establishment" so it does seem rather odd he would back Strange, but I think this move backs up what many already believed in that Trump is not tied to an ideology and he values loyalty above all else.

    I agree with that
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
