This criticism is coming from GOPs, as well as DEMs to a lesser extent. I would add that infrastructure was rarely a problem until the US House changed hands in 2011.

Will Texas Rep. Hensarling push for off-sets as he has for 6+ years? Cruz is still playing historical revision with Sandy aid ...

This is why you don't vote against sending disaster relief to another state - the entire purpose of the union is to scratch each other's backs.

Yep, I remember that. And also for YEARS after Katrina the Republicans in those States went back to the Feds year after years with their hands out begging for more and more money. But when Sandy hit the Northeast those same Republicans voted AGAINST giving Aid to NY and NJ.

They are all for States rights and the States taking care of themselves until it's their states that need help. The GOP is filled with assholes, from top to bottom.

That said I hope politics is pushed aside here and Texas gets all the help FROM THE FEDS that they need. I would never want to be seen as petty and unfeeling as the Republican a'holes in Congress.

Not according to the posters before me, though I might have expected this from you.

With a new storm on the Atlantic and Harvey breaking up into two new storms, the time is NOW for immediate Congressional approval of Harvey aid, followed quickly in a perfect world by a desperately needed Infrastructure bill.

Some people obviously have failing memories when it comes to GOP reaction to previous natural disasters in DEM areas ...

Especially when it's based on a lie. Cruz and co weren't against helping, it was the nature of the bill presented. And that was WELL AFTER the storm relief, not during the storm. So this whole thread stinks of IT.

When Cruz and others opposed additional funding for victims of Hurricane Sandy is because only 30% of the friggen bill would go to helping the least among them. 70% of the bill was PORK!

And that was determined by the CBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again your partisanship is what is making you irrational. Peter King NY proposed the bill for increased spending for Sandy but the only way he could get it passed in the House was to adopt a bunch of goodies for votes. In the Senate they waited for the CBO report and 70% of the bill in dollars was to pork. No good senator worth their weight would vote for such a bill.

You accuse partisanship after denying that Cruz is a liar, one of the very few things trump has gotten correct. Cruz doesn't let facts affect his speech.

You accuse partisanship when you can't back up your accusations of 'pork' in Sandy relief. Bring it on.

Cruz doesn't get to have the first and last lie, first bringing Sandy into the Texas catastrophe. Neither do GOP partisans ...
