I had the same thought. What would a transgendered person willingly be a member of a Baptist church? She is not very intelligent if she didn't have a clue that she would be able as welcome in that church as Jimmy Dean in Jerusalem.

She should try the Lutheran, Methodist, Anglicans, UCC or the Unitarians instead.

that's the thing that always confused me growing up in the church. i came out each Sunday ready to help all those in need. some others (and those in other churches) came out filled with hate. it never made any sense to me.

no, it was the churches will as gods do not exist. Let us be honest, churches are a human construct. I could care less if she was allowed to stay or go, maybe she should start her own church, history shows that has been done plenty of times during disagreements within a church.

If that were true all churches would virtually be empty, all of the vatican and most church leaders would have to leave their churches because most of them lie all of the time.

:lamo funny, coming from someone who believes the denial of reality/distortion of history to prop up a man made booklet and the delusions inside that booklet. There was no earth encompassing flood, people did not live hundreds of years, Adam and Eve are totally made up nonsense, etc. etc.

People are free to believe whatever they want, but to blast others for being good at denial when religion is the ultimate source for denial and delusions is just illogical and IMO total nonsense.

Yup.

There are parts in the bible dealing with slavery and they excuse it by saying that "slavery in the bible was different than slavery in the deep south" What they forget is any form of slavery is wrong. They also don't pay attention to that most of the people in the bible like Moses,Lot and such had more than one wife which is considered polygamy(a practice that no one approves of today and is illegal in any civilized nation) But seems they ignore those when those are in the same bible that condemns gay people and they say that the word of God is eternal and unchanging.

The Bible clearly and unequivocally condemns sodomy. Not “being gay” which is making an identity of having a disordered attraction, but commission of sodomy

When you are in positions of ministry leadership, you have to be beyond reproach. That means, for example, when you have a pastor who is living in sin and will not repent, church discipline dictates he must be removed from that position.

I remember a pastor did a sermon on homosexuality one week and said “we must take the Bible literally, believe everything in it.”

he following week, the sermon was on alcohol and he said “oh well they don’t really mean alcohol then, it was a different type of alcohol, etc etc.” I immediately was like.....you just told us to take everything literally last week, so which is it? Such contradictions all. the. time. They just want to change the narrative to what works best for them.
