Slate article shows how feminism fails women

Again, this is opinion, not fact. My opinion is that traditional values ARE a form of oppression against women, which is why I made it a point never to live by them. I always valued freedom over slavery.

1. Sure they were. They were basically the property of fathers or husbands.

2. It was a form of oppression against women to deny them the right to vote. Of course the men in favor of such oppression managed to con women into believing they were doing women a "favor." :roll:

3. Women could work, but only for a pittance, as they were deliberately excluded from the high-income trades and professions. And they couldn't keep their own earnings, if their fathers or husbands wanted their money. You may not call that oppression, but I do.

1.Sons were also the property of their fathers and no women werent property back then

2.nope, voting only applied to men as they were the only one who went to war, as society developed and politicians discussed other things from the 1880's which also included women, society changed and women were needed to vote

3.nope, women could work for any position they could and plus majoirty of the jobs were sould crushing to the man that would take years off life expectancy and women had more children to look after. AS WELL AS the fact that most people lived in a small town where women did work on the farm and the man would enter the city to sell stuff while women looked at home for the farm and children?whats wrong with that?

men were just as "oppressed" as women back then. Society changed and legally, men and women enjoy the same legal rights but culturally, nothing has chnaged on men

That freedom means she has enough money to provide for her own needs (home, food, clothing, etc.) without needing a husband to provide those things for her. When women have plenty of money to afford homes of our own, marriage is a choice, which some of us can reject if we don't want it. As I said before, freedom is a wonderful thing.

"Traditional values" IS slavery, to me anyway. Luckily, I live in a time when women, myself included, can reject the whole "traditional marriage" package and choose a life we like much better. Many women have done just that -- rejected "traditional marriage" -- and are much happier as a result.

That depends on the tradition. There are good traditions, like apple pie and ice cream on July 4th, for example, and bad traditions, like "traditional marriage." For me, "traditional marriage" isn't a good tradition, but a form of slavery. That's why I rejected it for myself and chose the single/childfree life instead. Freedom for women, it's a wonderful thing.

Because it Happens more often than a tradition of full body massage with Happy ending to help Bad girls become sugar and spice and everything nice.

Here is the bottom moral and ethical line;

Simply having a problem with only sex and not the Abomination of Hypocrisy (unto God) or false witness bearing (unto God) is silly in modern times/ Sex is virtually a requirement for our species to continue.

For YOU, obviously. However, you don't speak for me or for everyone else, and thank goodness for that. Those who want the slavery of "traditional marriage" can choose that for themselves. I'm glad I was -- and still am -- able to reject that life of misery for myself.

The Abomination of Hypocrisy (unto God) is an Abomination. Can false witness bearing be any better? Are casual liars and casual hypocrites Good if they "just say no" and abstain from sex?

And, casual sex is not evil only the right wing's understanding of it.
