You don't have to believe me. But I stand by what I said yesterday. Those who want the slavery of "traditional marriage" can choose it if that's really what they want. Good luck with that. I'm glad I was -- and still am -- able to reject that life of misery for myself. Freedom for women is a wonderful thing.

you ahve the freedom to do what you want but after thousand of years they found a system that worked, i would stick with it

In other words, old Traditions may no longer be useful in some situations. The US has an over Two Hundred year Tradition of our most Excellent Constitutional form of Government as intelligently designed by our Founding Fathers. It is merely a lack of faithful execution that is the problem.

Keep telling yourself that, if it makes you happy to do so. I know with 100% certainty that the whole "traditional marriage" thing would have made ME miserable, which is why I happily chose to reject it. I like happiness a whole lot better than misery.
 
Can anyone imagine if Prince Potemkin had been given a fully funded mandate for model villages instead of only enough for "proof of concept"? The Tradition that could have been established. Woe is we, we are the victims is what any true Russian could say.

It is simply more difficult to maintain without adequate social support in modern times. Not enough Tradition to go around to support that either?
