This really surprised me. Several of the countries least likely to support this kind of marriage are in Africa, while the Nordic countries seemed most likely to accept it. What might account for this fact?

Would you accept your daughter marrying a black person? Frankly, I thought the percentage of Americans who would accept would be much higher.

My daughter was dating a black man who was doing his masters research where she interred. I told her I didn't have a problem with skin color as long as he made her happy and treated her well.

Why just a daughter? Why not a son?

Personally, I have no problem letting my sons or daughters (if I ever have any) date a man or woman of any race or religion (or lack of) so long as there is love and respect on both ends (or more if that may be the case, but same rule applies and encompasses all involved).

I lived in Egypt and Jordan for a while, and as some of my peers quickly found out, do not make the mistake of calling the residents in those Nations "Black"...that Nubians, Sudanese, etc, are immigrants to thier Countries ( their words, not mine)

I'd expect around 75%. When I started 6th or 7th grade my grandmother pulled me aside and told me that I shouldn't talk to and date a black or mexican girl because they are all trouble. That was around 1997. And I've heard plenty of the same sentiments from random people here in louisiana over the years.

Sons do not have as effective of a race baiting hook as daughters. After all, every racist on earth freaks out at the thought of a black man having sex with white women.

I'd probably go with despicable. Being a moron may be a condition at birth. However, becoming a racist is a lifestyle choice.

It is not skin color. East Indians are often darker than most US blacks, and they get along just fine. IMO, black culture as expressed in the media is too alien for many people. The Average black guy is aware of that and goes out of his way to be non threatening. The “mask thing” is very unpopular for that reason.

It was my last few years during a Med Cruise in 1993.

My last LST, The USS Barnstable County LST-1197 had me fly off for a few days to go on to another ship to do a "In Service Inspection" since I had been around that type of machinery for years. It was a Squadron thing, and required all ships to determine their life expectancy..

When I was flying over to the USS Spartanburg County LST-1192 in a Navy CH-46 Helo, and there was a Marine pilot at the controls in the co pilot seat trying to get his qual's for LST landings. The pilot got the landing gear caught in the life lines as he was approaching the deck. He almost lost the "envelop" twice. We were almost at a 45 degree angle, or at least it felt like it. The crew chief took one look at the Navy pilot and decided to push me and a Hospital Corpsman out off the tail ramp. We had to swim to the stern of the ship as they lowered the stern gate for us to get onboard.

2 months later, I was flown off the ship for a emergency operation in Rota Spain on a CH-53 Helo that was blasting hydraulic fluid every wheres mid flight from the rotor hydraulics. The crew chief had me holding a Folgers coffee can to keep the fluid from spraying the pilot while he was doing what ever it was that he did to control the situation.

I said right then and there.................**** This! Ain't doing it!

I know a first generation Cuban American who told me he only dates white girls for that exact same reason.
