Will There Be An Uptick In Sexual Activity With All That's Going On?

It is not essential. The fact is the human race has survived for thousands of years before hormonal birth control was developed. At best that’s a therapy for making people feel better. It’s not life sustaining

Your life is in danger every single day, a chance of harm does not justify disordered behavior.

And you can always choose celibacy

The human race survived without cars, planes and computers too.

You dont need them

I am expected a CoronaBaby boom starting December.

But yeah, a lot of people are without money and people tend to like free entertainment.

A friend on Facebook quipped than in 15 years this group of children will be nicknamed the Quarin'teens.

Is other pain medications essential, such as tylenol and midol?

And we have survived for a long time without vaccines and ventilators and chemotherapy too. Should those be deemed nonessential as well?

You started this by suggesting that it was nonessential temporarily for the purpose of presumably worrying about other more necessary things. This proves you were just dishonestly trying to use the crisis of this virus to stop birth control altogether, to wage a ridiculous war against something you simply dont approve of. Birth control isnt going anywhere, deal with it.

And yes it is just as essential as many other medications, pain relievers and preventative medications.

Why should people be celibate? Humans, like other mammals, are very sexual creatures and you cannot turn it off because of your illogical religious beliefs or lack of knowledge of biology.

Maybe we could provide effective chemical and barrier birth control for free, but that would be too obvious for people who pray to their sky fairy, who they believe created the universe but who won't cure them or stop the virus from spreading.

With more people not working , you would think they would have more time on their hands?

More time for sex?

Could we expect an uptick of birthrates as well?

Yes indeed. Remember the 93' blizzard that affected the SE US all the way up the east coast when people were at home for something like a week. 9 months later a mini baby boom for these areas.
