People may not realize that in ever pricier Los Angeles, many people in theoretically *legitimate* areas of showbiz moonlight in porn to help make ends meet.

What the coronavirus has done to the porn industry — so far

Sex workers — like with freelancers, gig economy workers, and the like — will be hit harder than those with salaries and health insurance. It is also important to note because some sex work is also illegal in many places, workers can't seek the same benefits others can.

"Sex workers, like all workers, are probably going to be hit by the climate of fear," said Ashley, "but unlike a lot of workers they can't rely on sick pay or government subsidies to help tide them over because in some countries their work is still criminalised so they're one of the most vulnerable groups in a situation like this."

But if productions stop, then crews don't work. This is of course true of mainstream productions as well, which Stabile argued may be more unsafe in this situation due to a larger amount of people, and those who don't know how to handle bodily fluids.

tough. pornography should be illegal anyway.

Well, consenting adults & all, but an odd business for sure.

A lot of people rely on it to pay bills, and that's really my focus - the economic impact on them.

I’m sure they can apply for a hand-job,...err, hand-out!

Yeah, Christian sharia all the way.

So, on the subject, would you vote for a politician who had sex partied with a porn star and then paid her to not tell anyone what he had done with her? Would you vote for that guy?

No. Never have.

Why? Producers are consenting adults. Buyers and sellers are consenting adults

Consent is irrelevant, you cannot be permitted to consent to evil

How are you going to stop it?

I don’t think it needs to be stopped. Merely punished.

Unlike the left or libertarians, I do not believe a utopia can ever be made, that being said I do not use that as an excuse for why anything should go.

How do you propose to punish, then?

There are certain industries that will make it through ANY economic, civic, biological or climatological catastrophe. Porn is one of those industries.

Keep your puritcanical relgious beliefs out of the lives of other adults.

Well if we were able to pass legislation outlawing it then the punishment would be in the legislation.

Why should sex as a performance art be illegal?

Because sex as a performance art is immoral. And I don't give a rats ass about the "consenting adults" argument. "Consenting adults" is not the determiner of morality.

Your idea is a blatant violation of multiple ideas of the First Amendment, such as Free Speech and both religious clauses. Kindly keep your illogical religious myths and authoritarian fantasies out of the lives of other people.

That is a religious belief. You can not enforce your moral beliefs as secular law without trampling on both religious clauses of the First Amendment. Can other religions force you to obey their beliefs as a form of morality, or is this a one-way street for your sect because not all Christian sects agree with you?

Sex is not immoral.

Of course that's why you linked to a study that shows all these people in legitimate areas of showbiz moonli....oh wait... tonbricks.gif

Name someone who moonlights in porn, just one person.

Sex is not immoral.

Sex is certainly immoral under various circumstances. Unless you believe rape is okay.

And yes, it is a one way street.
