Asmr

Some people confuse it with the tingling one feels when a limb "wakes up" after going to sleep, or bashing one's funny bone, or gets goosebumps in the cold.

Now I don't know; medically, these things may be considered ASMR. But for me they don't remotely resemble ASMR. Not all tingles, shivers, and willies are made the same.

No that isn't what I'm talking about it is the precise response that's described When I Look up the definition of ASMR. I just don't necessarily get the euphoria from it.

I definitely don't derive contentment or happiness from it outside of a fleeting moment like an orgasm.

It doesn't have to be the back of my neck it can be the back of my knee. And no I don't mean it just tickles where they are although it does. It also causes that tingling in my scalp that runs down my neck which is what I understand ASMR is.

Head lice exams didn't cause that for me. Hair cuts did though

Hair cuts are very common triggers. Lots of hair cut role-playing on youtube.

But you don't feel it as pleasure? Just odd feeling tingles?

When I first read about ASMR, I knew exactly what was being described.

It's hard to say whether it's more pleasurable than an orgasm. In my case I'd say the peak intensity of the pleasure of the latter is greater, but ASMR can last for well over a minute. It's also a very different type of pleasure.

I sometimes experience ASMR while taking phone surveys. No idea why.

Yeah, the triggers can be odd, and very different for different people.

I like ASMR better than sex because it can go on and on for hours, with no limit. I only watch about one hour before going to bed. Trying not to become an ASMR addict who never does anything else.

For me, orgasms are very quick. As soon as it's starting to feel really good, bam, it's done. So I prefer the long-lasting but less intense ecstasy of ASMR.

No, those things are definitely not ASMR. Tingling can have lots of causes.

Of course, sex also has the function of bonding two people together. Primate grooming has that function also, of social bonding, and maybe ASMR is related to that.

Most people have probably never heard of ASMR, but it's a thing. You can find it on the internet, on youtube.

It probably isn't related to sex at all. I am mentioning it because I think it feels better than sex. If you are susceptible, it can get you hypnotized and in a blissful state.

Since I found out about ASMR, I became less interested in sex. I don't know if that's just a coincidence.

Yes, happens to me all the time when I have a very good extended massage.

Massages seem to be a common trigger. Lots of ASMR massage on youtube. Do you get triggered by watching massages, or only by actually getting them?

No guy would agree with your statement just an FYI.

LOL. Agreed, but I think it's a matter of degree. Obviously guys, compared to gals, have a heightened interest in sex. If someone is "oversexed" then ASMR may help. I like listening to thunderstorm sounds from my Echo Show5 when sleeping but will give ASMR a try. Our two year old grandson likes to sleep with the sound of a fan (white noise) from an Echo in his room.

By getting them. I go once a week after a long week of work. A nice dinner, relaxing massage and them a nightcap on Friday night is a great start to a weekend.

But did you ever try watching an ASMR massage video? I have found that watching and listening can be as good as being touched physically. I actually experience the illusion of being touched. And you can watch a youtube video for free, as opposed to $100 for a massage.

I listen to ASMR. It helps me go to sleep. I only listen to my usual favorites, since like a lot of things, it's saturated full of bad ASMR. There's some creators that make it all sexual, which is so freaking weird to me.

Oh there are so many bad ones, and more bad ones all the time. And even the good ones aren't likely to be my personal triggers. I end up watching certain ones over and over.
