How is there no one here objecting to the romantic fascism that is Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day = LITERALLY Hitler

The florists make a lot of money on Valentine's Day, I may run up to the grocery store in the hope of scoring half-price plants and flowers. Already hit Walgreen's for half-off chocolate and found the shelves already stripped by 9:30. So Happy February 15!

Yeah I don't get it myself. I'm happy in my relationship, I love my partner everyday, loud and we celebrate our marriage on our anniversary. So Valentine's day today and still what it was for me when I was a kid, we have a few chocolates and maybe get some conversation hearts stuck in our teeth, throw out the ones we didn't eat in October when we buy Halloween candy and open the candy dish.

Pretty sure Mother's Day is the biggest day of a florist's year, but surely Valentine's Day is #2.

Meanwhile, I should've hit the grocery store at the crack. By the time I arrived a little after 10:30, there was only one plant, a lovely white/pale pink begonia in an 8-inch pot for only $3. I could just kick myself for not going earlier. Arrrrgh. The Monday after Mother's Day, I will hit the stores by 7.
