Fascinating subreddit, what I find most interesting is the number of FTM that are on there that share their stories of regret. They have a common thread, theme... "railroaded into it" "Pushed into a decision" "Cheerleaders". The same things I've been saying I ran into when I started my own journey, granted I am not in anyway regretting turning in my man card, and am looking forward to the continuation of my personal transition. That being said, I have tried to be as up on the matter as I can be, and reading the pro's and con's that others share help me make the right choices. I feel terrible for these people, so many stories of regret you don't find in the normal course of media reporting online. It is a great resource, if you know someone who is "I think I'm trans" send them to that subreddit, it might help them in their decisions, and maybe avoid the pitfalls of a system more geared towards pushing their agenda than helping people more often than not.

Could it be like buyer's remorse?

You think a car, house or woman will make your life so much better, but once you get it, things remain the same.

... for some? Yes. If you read through the threads, a lot of is people who are running from real problems and jump at the trans thing to hide from their real issues. However once they've been transitioned long enough the real problems come back and they are worse off. At least, many of the comments and threads I've read so far have that theme.

Im a transgender female and in must say im happy with life. I am in a better off spot than when i was a male. I have a career now, own place, nice car, and friends.

Then again, not saying theres possibilities of regret, some ppl will post on any forum claiming they are transgender but they want to stir up the ppl into thinking we are never happy ppl and we are always in a state of depression.

Not me and not any of my trans friends
