This article from The Wall Street journal struck me as rather odd. It's basically saying that women who have achieved a high rank in their career we are having difficulty finding the type of men they want.

A Good Man Is Getting Even Harder to Find - WSJ

It seems that men of the same status don't want to date professional women in general. I'm sure there are exceptions to every rule. But I find this funny men not doing as well as women is a problem for women.

I can understand why a man who work 70 hours a week doesn't want to marry a woman that work 70 hours a week you'll never see each other.

It's funny how they're characterizing this as these professional men not stepping up is though there's nothing wrong with women's preferences. There's nothing wrong with the professional woman marrying a blue collar man. Or even as stay-at-home man. But professional women don't seem to want that.

If you are making say $200K a year and want to have a baby. Getting by on $28K a year from your hubby's job might be a problem

Seems many highly paid professional women aren't going to have to worry about that

That is because they don't bother apparently. If you have a mortgage/car payments etc comparable to your income level then it is only logical to not want to be in a relationship with someone who cannot help you out should you get pregnant. It wouldn't be as big a problem the other way around since men usually don't have to miss any work to become a parent.

Well it seems the men in their level professionally don't seek out women like them.

Maybe they would be interested in an old bull****, hippy, redneck hybrid?

If I recall correctly I look good in a tux and can really appreciate an open bar...

How lucky can a guy get, an unemployed, fat, ugly, stupid kid with missing teeth wins the lottery jackpot...

...and then within a week, gets a 10/10, sexual bombshell of a blonde who wouldn't look out of place in a Playboy centerfold, as a girlfriend.

How lucky can a guy get ???

Simple: A high-earning man wants an 18 or 19 year old. What's the point of painstakingly building a career only to marry a post-wall woman? From a family point of view: Having children with a woman pushing 40 is a high risk pursuit.

Two words: financial planning.

If you are making say $200K a year and want to have a baby. Getting by on $28K a year from your hubby's job might be a problem

It seems like men in high places don't want a woman who's at an equal level to them. People can call this misogyny all they want but you can't force someone to marry you you can't force someone to love you.

Do you think 28k is all you can make us a blue collar worker? I've made near to 80k a year as a blue collar worker. if you can't survive on that through your maternity leave nobody's going to marry you anyway.

Those men in high places are just a bunch of incels. I just thought I would jump in and say it first before the chorus joins in.

Yeah so they say but really they could have any woman they want. High-level professional women are simply not what they want.

They sure do try, though. The latest thing is "status rape" where a man in a position of authority has a consensual relationship with a young, inexperienced employee. You can bet that it's not the young lady going to HR; it's the jealous post-wall women who witness such a relationship.

It depends it can be the lady in the relationship if she's not getting what she wants. best case scenario never have sex with anybody you work with.

Most men (possibly all) will always seek to find the most attractive woman they can find. Most could care less about how much money she makes.

Typically men like younger women. and if a woman has found a lot of success in career she is typically older.

Another little detail: The corporate culture is a toxic place. Sure, it can be gotten used to. After spending all day stewing in such a toxic environment, the last thing a man wants is to have that toxicity at home with a corporatized wife.

Is the toxicity associated with a corporate husband also the last thing a wife needs after spending all day stewing in such a toxic environment ?

...it is not luck. It merely takes Gold to find Brave, women under our form of Capitalism.

I've never understood that.

Why is a young woman attractive to an older ma.

I get the rich, older men don't want a woman all wrinkled and saggy but why do they want someone emotionally immature ?

My guess is they are younger therefore more years of cold bearing and more vitality but that's more of an evolutionary stand point.

I'm not so sure emotional maturity comes into play with the attraction between a straight male and a woman.

I like younger guys mostly because they are a little more daring and bold, less reserved. Maybe that is what straight men like about younger women. I can't tell you I have never been one.

She should be grateful if she understands the indignity that she has been spared by a husband that deals with that in her stead.

I agree with that. I can't imagine being with a young woman who wants to go out all the time. And what would you have to talk about? Sounds boring. Hand me the crossword puzzle.
