Ford vs Chevy

Netflix - "Fastest Car"

The Tesla got beat by a mustang (or was it, due to the twin turbo LS motor under the hood?) and a 300ZX.

Was it the Tesla Roadster (0-60mph in 1.9 seconds)? Also, was it under a 1/4 mile? Link?

Roadster | Tesla

Base Specs
Acceleration 0-60 mph
1.9 sec
Acceleration 0-100 mph
4.2 sec
Acceleration 1/4 mile
8.8 sec
Top Speed
Over 250 mph

It was a quarter mile, and it was the one with "ludicrous" mode.

Sorry, SINGLE turbo LS.

I'm horrible at linking stuff, Google beer money mustang.

No problem. I was just looking to verify that the race was under 1/4-mile, and that the Tesla was the Roadster model. The Dodge Hellcat lost to the Tesla at 1/4 mile, but overtook the Tesla, after that.

It couldn't outperform the instantaneous torque of an electric car - at least not in a 1/4-mile race. Anything over that, yes...

Really, I didn't hear that.

An electric car is quicker than a SKyline over 250 yards.

Ford's quality control has improved...but I still wouldn't buy one.

Not again, and I've had three.

Ford cars has the most recalls(Ford Escape breaks the record). They're accident prone and very unreliable. I could never understand why folks buy them. After 1966 the quality and dependability went down the toilet using foreign parts. Bodies and frames rusting and cracking. Transmissions slips out.Engines overheat and if you're lucky the car will start.
If I get on a game show such as Wheel of Fortune and win a Ford, I'll get rid of it as soon as I leave Culver City...perhaps right away.

I saw a TV interviewing a Ford manager. He told of a time the got two identical engines; One made by Ford in the USA and one by their Japanese subsidiary Mazda (subsidiary might not be the right word).

The Japanese engine purred beautifully whilst the Ford engine was rough.

The answer lay in quality control and tolerances

While Ford managers said a tolerance of 0.1 was "goof enough" the Japanese managers strived or a tighter tolerance...and then tighter still...and then tighter still. They never stopped trying to improve.

Ford announced another F-150 recall today with their 2019 and 2020 models.Fascinating the 2020 model are just arriving and already they have been recalled.

A friend of mine has a uncle who owned a 1967 Ford Galaxy for three years. The car overheats. Car had a bad thermostat issue.
So is it a isolated issue ?
'67 '68 Chevy Impala had record sales both years and beyond.

All well and good.

In those days though there wasn't too much automotive competition for Detroit and oil prices were low.

Americans changed their car typically every couple of years so older models faults could be ignored.

Let this be a learning moment for everyone out there. If you see a man with a v6 Camaro, run.

LOL Anyone with a Camaro is suspect. They truly are impossible to see out of.

God of Darkness!

Inventor of the Short Circuit.

Get home before dark.

Q: Why do the British drink warm beer?

A: Because Lucas Electric Co. Ltd. also makes all their refrigerators.

If someone wants a little style, a little class, and doesn't wanna be some weird freak in what appears like a foreign vehicle, Camaro is where it's at.

I'd go with a black Ford SHO with AWD

Besides being among the ugliest cars on the road the gun slit style windows on the Camaro are down right dangerous. Not to mention the tiny trunk lid opening. I have no idea what the designers were thinking but those front ends are hideous.
