Should Intersexed people be forced into a gender/sex at birth?

So..... Transgender/intersex people are not to be accepted?

Not on the basis of deceit. And again, intersex is a false construct for PC dishonesty.

Nothing more ridiculous looking than former NYC Mayor Giuliani in a dress and make up. However the gay couple out of the closet partners living down the hall from me raising 3 adopted children as their own have my utmost respect. Nice people, good people, good parents and good neighbors. Nothing to think about.

Wrong. Post #87. He said "There is no such thing as intersexed." The very first thing he said in this thread. He states they don't exist.
Post #87 is made by someone else. But if you quote him accurately, I read that statement as denying the existence of a third sex.

What do you mean when you say intersex is a false construct?

My bad, #89. But he still states that intersexed do not exist. They absolutely do exist and should be recognized as they are, not given over to doctors or parents to decide based on biased opinions. They are intersexed.

How does recognizing people as intersexed harm you or anyone else? That is what they are.

It isnt your business if Bob down the lane wants to wear a dress and makeup or Mary wants to wear a suit and tie. It is their life, not yours.

Appearance is the main way we attempt to determine anyone's gender in public. You don't have access to a stranger's medical information, no right to their legal sex, and don't normally see their genitals.

All day, every day, I contemplate the appearance of other people's genitals. Male or female, that is the question? :rofl

I'm more concerned about the vicious attack squirrels in the neighborhood. They attack if you have no peanuts for them. Angry little extortionists.

No one has argued otherwise. No one has suggested transgenders or intersexed people do harm to others, except him (at least to a degree). He doesnt want to accept them for who they are, only who he expects or wants them to be.

Learn how to read. Conflating aberrations as a suggestion they all cause harm is an absurd projection.

Like I already said, "I don't care." Giuliani in a dress and make up looked ridiculous. And ugly.

They make up 1-2% of our population, the same percentage as those with red hair naturally.

So what? Your terminology is specious. Face the rejection.

Then why do you care if someone named Elizabeth goes into the men's room and wears a suit and tie or if someone named Charles goes into the women room wearing skinny jeans and a t-shirt, both with the term "intersexed" on their birth certificate?

Because you don't want to accept it? This information is found in scientific research.

And I have already told you to Google intersex anatomy.

Because others adopt the same BS terminology doesn't change anything. Google is not your friend.

Well it has been my position to the haranguing of people like you that sex and gender are connected.

Sex and gender are connected, but not always the same.

For 99% of the population, your chromosomes and exposure to certain levels of hormones, impacts your brain's perception of ones self. For transgender individuals, the brain somehow never got the message the body sent.

But of course the question at hand was whether or not, intersex children should be allowed to choose their sex or opt to keep both. We're not talking about ones psychological outlook on life, but ones genitals.

He's talking about birth certificates. Intersex babies should have sexes as undetermined.

Actually, I think birth certificates should have 3 options: M, F or I.

There are actually transgender people who born as intersex, their parents choose male, the child had their vagina removed, and then later in life, identified as a female. It happens.

What's worse... Parents used to determine the sexes and the doctors did operations.

Edit - I reread. You said what I said.

Have you ever seen a 3 year old? Girl or boy, they generally look the same and we normally judge their gender solely off how they are dressed and maybe their hair cut. Everything else is pretty androgynous at that age. And you aren't going to normally see their genitals out in public.

What in the hell are you talking about?

We aren't talking about transgender kids here, we are talking about intersexed kids and allowing them to grow up intersexed, not forcing a sex (and therefore trying to force a gender) into that child.

I wasn't talking about intersex kids sorry. If that's what you want to talk about don't butt into a conversation that's not about that.

You're the one who said parents wouldn't let the boy figure it out and just put girl clothes on him. That's YOUR.hypothetical and claim.

So in your hypothetical a three year old boy buys his own clothes and dresses himself?

Your hypothetical is profoundly stupid

Agreed.

I'm not really concerned about that if someone is transgender I wish them the best.

But of course the question at hand was whether or not, intersex children should be allowed to choose their sex or opt to keep both. We're not talking about ones psychological outlook on life, but ones genitals.
I don't think intersects two people are in a position to choose their own sex they are what they are born as just like anybody else.
