The more you are exposed to various personalities, ideas, facts, beliefs and worldviews at colleges, the more liberal and tolerant you are. Whats ironic is that as i neared my graduation at Liberty University, the less conservative I got. :lamo
Wait, what? You went to Liberty University?
Tell us more. If that means making a new thread, link to it please, because I am actually quite fascinated to meet a former LU alumnus who came out the other end as a left leaner.
Of course I am sure that you realize that is mighty rare, or is it?
BTW one of my very very dear friends is not only an Oral Roberts grad, he wound up working as head of security for them for about ten years. He's now a proper lefty.
We joked about it because I enjoyed his friendship even at the height of his right-oriented leanings. He's the same guy today as he was when we first met, personality wise. One day about two years ago, he just popped up on my Messenger and said:
"Holy ****, have I turned into a libtard? I think I might have!"
Took me about five minutes to regain my composure and I called him up:

You're still Steve B, far as I can tell, it's just that you seem a lot kinder and more relaxed.
Oh trust me Jeff, I was wound up pretty tight these last few years. It led to a kind of breakdown, and then I realized that it was like that Leon Russell song, "sitting on the highway in a broken van". I was sitting on the highway of life in my broken van, and I needed to start making some changes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
---Well, he made those changes, but they were so gradual and so organic that at first, most of his friends didn't really notice until maybe a couple of years later.
Is that how it worked with you or did a switch just flip all of a sudden? I ask because, for me, aside from a slight gradual embrace of a couple of conservative views, I'm still pretty much the same as I've always been.
My oldest brother is something of a camp follower and he's been like a pendulum all his life, swinging between the two extremes and never settling down in the middle. He was an extreme Left campus radical in the Sixties and now he's a full-tilt ultra-Righty now. He went from extreme Left to extreme Right, in the space of two years or less.
