Respectfully...

You can't change a person's sexuality by socialization or by education.
Not even for the undeveloped minds of grade school students.

Learning that gay people exist will not make them gay.
Teaching them to respect everyone is right.
Telling them that gays are not less than or that being gay is to be ashamed of and not talked about is wrong.

The ones who are gay will grow up with healthy self esteem
and the straight ones will not think to discriminate.

Then it's just no big deal to anyone
and nobody has to fight to feel right
and nobody is in anyone else's face.

The gay ones are going to be gay even if Billy Graham raised them.

The straight ones will be straight
even if they were to be raised by non-binary drag queens living together in a communal apartment above a gay bar.

I agree.

The problem is very religious people who take the Bible literally. Even with these, you're starting to see them say that "Jesus loves gay people." But they still don't believe that gayness is integral to a person, that it's not something someone can catch by sharing toilet seats.

My hunch is that the religious will get their heads on straight eventually.

The bible is a plagiarised book of bronze-age fiction and violence. It should not be legal to allow a child to join a church before they turn 18 because of the violence and lies in that book. Let the person decide as an adult if they want to join.
