Swimwear model responds after body-shamers criticize cellulite: 'Being beautiful is about being kind

The reality is that the vast majority of women...and consumers of ladies swimwear...have 'real' figures. I think its fan fricken tastic that women that will actually WEAR the swimsuits model the swimsuits and give women a real feel for what it will look like as opposed to a skinny gal providing an unrealistic expectation of appearance. I also think its awesome that we have reached a point where women can feel comfortable going to the beach and wear a 2 piece and not be afraid of being judged and if someone has a problem with what they are wearing or how they look they can go ahead and eat **** and die.

My wife is petite and large breasted. She used to spent hour agonizing over looking just right in a 1 piece suit. When she hit 50, she found an amazing attitude and it came accompanied with a whole lot of "go **** yourself" where other peoples opinions are concerned. She could always rock a bikini...but now she is willing to.

Side note...thong suits on ladies...hey...it looks uncomfortable but if thats where you are at...big ups. Thong suits on guys...ALWAYS a fashion faux pas...and I dont even care if thats hypocritical.

There's a big difference between not saying anything and writing a check against it.

WTH is a "body-positive post?" A graphic illustration of a fat person's body with less rather than more clothing? Um...Where's my time machine? "Rubens," here we come....God, let's hope not...that's so "been there, done that."

my 12-pack turned into a keg, so i'm gonna take a pass

Hey, have you ever been to a nudy beach? No one cares what others look like, they are just being themselves. We are so hung up on appearances. Not sure what made us be so superficial, but is isn't very becoming, and a facade is not really that important when you look at the bigger picture.

It only takes once, baby....

just to clarify, that was NOT VanceMack in the above photo
he has the good taste never to be caught wearing lime green

I think healthy is attractive. There are women who are voluptuous but don't have the same obvious cellulite that she has, maybe they just exercise and/or eat better. Imo, this model looks like she has the body of a 55 year old.

Have a look at my hot body:

It's what women really want.

Weird...mine didn't but who knows...she is pretty weird and seems to have wanted companionship with someone as weird as her.

I guess its a hotness thing.

There are different types of 'healthy'. Women that fall into the trap of what they 'should' look like in order to be socially acceptable may be thin...fit...but also may develop other body image problems trying to conform to this idea of 'should'. Women...especially the woman that is shown in the OP...are far more likely to lead an overall healthy lifestyle and love themselves.

There ARE extremes. It isnt healthy to promote morbid obesity and that is a dangerous trend.

Nothing that a good paint program/air brushing can't fix. 99.9% of female images in magazines are enhanced. I'm sure she would meet the naysayers expectations if she was photoshopped to perfection.

If you are showcasing your body to attract whatever kind of consumer, don't ask others, ESPECIALLY MEN, to be attracted to the unattractive. Of course there are other venues such as a sales lady where her premise fits. Even then knowledgeable trumps kind. A woman with cellulite modelling swimwear to sell is like showcasing a hotel with dented cars parked out front.

My wife is almost twice her age and objectively looks better than this:

Nobody is asking YOU to do ****.

Including me.

A key moment in becoming a real man is realizing that women don’t wear what the wear for you.

That's debatable. But it doesn't matter. I like what I like. I don't like what I don't like.

Consider the intent of the posted message (or a model appearing in a swimsuit ad) - was it intended to target A) men, B) supermodels or C) the average woman? If you picked "C" then maybe you should reconsider your objection to its content.

Unless you buy bikinis, this ad wasn't targeted at you.

I don't think she's trying to sell bathing suits to supermodels.

If a company uses her for advertising and it works... Live the dream.
