More than half of transgender teachers face harassment in their workplace

shhhhh dont post facts when they will just be ignored. lol
I laugh every time the word delusion is posted as if it equates to transgender ism somehow. Its hilarious and shows how severely dishonest or topically uneducated some posters are on issues.
its a great show!

:popcorn2:

And I should take back one post, because I made a mistake in placing an “ism” there.

it happens . . .nobody is above letting things get away from them sometimes. the important part is recognizing it ;)

Lol
Thats ok. I wont be a bigot and dog you for your beliefs, like you are to me.
I know millions, possibly more than a billion people on this planet dont think delusional people should teach their kids. I would bet money it is more than half TBH
So, sorry if your emotional drivel doesnt bother me.

Beliefs? Great thing about science is, it doesn't require belief. Millions of people used to think being left handed was a sign of the devil, and that the hand should be broken lest the soul lost. Doesn't mean they were right. In fact I find most people are usually limited in how they perceive things, making their opinions uninformed and therefore without merit. And you shouldn't put to much stock in the majority, as the majority of people in this discussion are clearly explaining to you why you are a bigot. And you are vehemently denying it. Funny you don't see how that relates to calling a person who feels like a woman a man, despite them denying it. So funny.

Emotion? You're the guy pitching a hissy fit because trans people dare to become teachers and want to pick what bathroom they use. Thought this was America, if I want to cut off my wang, that's my goddamn right as an American. Ain't you nor anyone else, gonna tell me different. Don't want me teaching your kid, move. That's your right as an American.

Lol wrong on all fronts.
I dont believe they are "icky" i believe delusional people shouldnt teach our kids.
I want them to use the CORRECT restroom. A male doesnt belong in a female bathroom.
By would you want to hide who you are anyway? Screw what anybody thinks about you, renae. Words are nothing more than that. Words. You carry protection, so you are set.

They aren't delusional, your delusional if you think your personal bigotry wins the day.
I'm not male, so I won't use the men's room, sorry.

Because people like you tend to get violent in public.

I was the first generation in my family not to have their left-handedness "corrected" by adults. But--but--I did have to live through the tyranny of right-handedness by only being able to use right-handed scissors. Damn paper always flipped on me!

I'm somewhat ambidextrous. Broke my right wrist when I was younger nad learned to do a lot left handed. So, anyway, the point of this, and talking about older generations and lefties, I was living with my then drunk abusive uncle. We were eating and he starts STARING at me, like I'm a freak. "WHAT THE HELLS IS WRONG WITH YOU?" I was flabberghasted. What was he on about. Evidently my holding a fork and using my left hand enraged the **** out of him.

https://www.npr.org/sections/ed/201...ransgender-teachers-face-workplace-harassment

More than half of transgender teachers face harassment or discrimination in the workplace, according to an NPR Ed survey of transgender and gender-nonconforming educators.

The survey of 79 trans and gender-nonconforming teachers from the U.S. and Canada found that the harassment they face ranges widely: from 20 percent who reported verbal harassment, to 17 percent who said they'd been asked to change how the present themselves, such as their clothing, to two teachers who said they'd been fired.

"I was horribly harassed by a coworker and very little was done about it," said Lauren Heckathorne of Evanston, Ill., who identifies as nonbinary. "The focus was on making [the harasser] more comfortable."

These findings come from our online survey, and follow-up interviews by phone and in person with two dozen of the 79 teachers who responded.

Despite the challenges they face, a majority of these teachers also said they have tried to integrate LGBT-related topics into their teaching. Many also mentioned advising LGBT awareness groups for students, training peers or addressing the topic in venues such as school assemblies.

And, they told us, they see schools as crucial spaces not only of learning, but of safety, for the next generation.

"I don't think I've ever seen a supportive parent for my LGBT kids," says Chris Smith, who teaches many recent immigrants in a high school in New York City. Considering the high rates of bullying, homelessness and even suicide among LGBT youth, these teachers say their work can be a matter of life and death.

My only question is, why are we letting the mentally ill teach our kids anything?

Thanks for giving an example of the discrimination and bigotry these people face. I hope you learn the error of your vile ways.

As i have already stated in this thread, why should someone that denies basic biology, teach it? They also have a 50% suicide rate AFTER surgery.
BTW, a bigot isnt someone questioning a persons mental capacity to do a job correctly.... People are throwing that term around like liberal and racism.. "Bigot" will lose meaning as well. Sad.

No. They do not have a "50% suicide rate after surgery". Please cite some credible sources if you truly believe this. They don't even have a 50% suicide rate prior to transitioning.

I agree people should use their proper restroom.
If you are a male, go to the female bathroom. If you are a female, go to the female bathroom.
If you are a "dude", go to the female bathroom. If you are a "chick" go to the male bathroom.
This isnt Rome and we dont have bath houses like that anymore.

When is the last time you checked to make sure a "dude" was really a dude (you know both the penis and XY chromosomes, or hell even just their ID card to verify gender/sex matched) in the male head (bathroom)? Do you believe you actually have some legal right to do any of this while in the bathroom?

Females have XX chromosome. You have XY. Therefore, you arent a female. You can call yourself a girl, chick, woman or whatever social concept you want. But you are no female. Biology isnt a state of mind.

Don't know a whole lot about biology there do you? There are many other biological possibilities beyond "XX is female, XY is male".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XX_male_syndrome

Then there are chimeras and other forms of intersexed individuals, whom altogether, regardless of how rare they are individually, make up approximately the same amount or more as transgender individuals.

Beyond this, as I stated in a previous post, you don't normally check for genitalia let alone DNA of those who enter the restroom. That is none of your business. So then your argument is ridiculous.

Sorry but you arent special.
It does have bearing, actually. You are sitting there and saying the most basic of biology is incorrect.

Most of us know to move beyond the basics once we learn that because the basics generally do not give enough information to actually live as functioning, productive adults.

because a restroom isnt designated by attire.

A restroom isn't really enforced or designated by anything except opinions. And that is highly subjective. I have a friend who gets harassed constantly for using the women's restroom. She is and always has been physically a woman. But she has very masculine features and appearance. She is and should not be under any obligation to prove her sex to anyone over which bathroom she uses just because some people can't understand this. The same goes for Renae and all transgenders. Someone else's sex (legal, physical, biological, other) is none of your business when it comes to them using the restroom. Just concern yourself with doing your business and getting the heck out.
