First Transgender Woman Able to Breastfeed Baby Without Undergoing Surgery

OR the doctor could be out to make a name for himself...time will tell...I just hope it is not at the expense of the child...

Perhaps...but I'm not sure the best way to make a name for oneself is to endanger babies... :)

Do you really think she would have done this or her doctors would have given her the meds if there were a danger to the baby?

From what I read on another thread, the drugs are banned by the FDA

From what I read on another thread, the drugs are banned by the FDA

I googled the drug the article said she used and it's not banned. She was treated by a doctor at Mount Sinai Hospital. Do you really think he'd risk his license by prescribing it and then talking publicly about it?

Do you rail against others feeding it to their children?

This particular person has been pumped full of synthetic hormones as well as questionable drugs...breast feeding is NOT the only way to nourish this baby...your comparison is apples and oranges...it is a known fact that the smaller/younger the child, the more dangerous the exposure to harmful hormones and drugs...

And with those words, you reveal that nothing else you said is worth listening to. Tschüss. :2wave:

The "mother" was born with a penis and his sperm met with an egg and created a baby, that is a male.

You give this male drugs to make him have breast milk, he's still a male.

You can pretend or even truly believe you to be anything you like, I don't care, but I'll call that spade a spade. the mother is a father who took a drug that made him have breastmilk.

Nothing stunning or newsoworthy about it.

So you're just offering your personal opinion. Got it.

No they wrote an article about it because it's extraordinary for a male to produce breast milk and it quantity that could nurse a baby.

That's not what nature does it's what artificial hormones do. You have to be real careful with what medicines you take when you breastfeed.

Being male and so jacked up on hormones that you produce breast milk is cause for concern for any person that has the slightest amount of Common Sense.

Idiots clapping about this because yay trans women can feel more like women have no regard for the infant.

I would say you're wasting your breath with this one. I'm starting to think that anything that contradicts gender roles will have some idiots clapping like trained seals.

I'll have to find that other thread. Maybe we are talking about two different stories?

I just google it and it is banned. Oh wait, it's banned in the US. They got it in Canada.

You raised some reasonable points in the first three sentences and then torpedoed them with your fourth. I prefer to listen to transgender people themselves or people who actually understand them, sorry!

Why can't/won't you answer my question?

The fourth sentence being this:

"Being male and so jacked up on hormones that you produce breast milk is cause for concern for any person that has the slightest amount of Common Sense."

So medication is transferred to the baby via Brest milk but that isn't a concern when the medicine being transferred is huge doses of hormones?

Why because no matter what harm can come to the child its virtuous because they are trans?

I prefer to listen to transgender people themselves or people who actually understand them, sorry!
Well this isn't really about understanding trans people. It isn't that complicated. It's about what harm can be done to a baby through ingesting milk containing hormones. A trans person isn't qualified to explain that. An MD is. Why would you listen to someone because they are trans about something like the risks of an infant ingesting milk from a male on hormone medication?

That is deranged.

Well Brest feeding is perfectly fine. As long as the mother isn't on medication that could harm the baby.

This person might be the father. I'm not sure. If the father is pumped up on hormones enough to produce Brest milk... women only produce it when they are nursing. This male did not have a baby and cannot. So the dosage must be profoundly high. It's going to be tainted.

But **** that baby it's all about trans people's feelings. If the child develops illnesses later in life its okay because a trans woman got to feel more like a regular woman for a few weeks.

Its amazing how self centered people can be.

And she/he breastfed...amazing...

Its odd how legitimate concerns become transphobia. It's so complicated. So difficult to understand. A person born as male wants to be female. How ever could I understand that.

Even if my position is more power to them and I'll treat them how they wish to be treated in public.

No **** that. It's not enough. Unless you are willing to have a relationship with a trans woman and pretend that a male nursing a baby is perfectly healthy you are a Nazi.

Its absurd. I wonder when people are going to have enough of this.

That is deranged.

What is deranged is when people (not you necessarily) assume that there is something wrong with a person for being transgender and wanting to live a normal life in the body of their choosing. It is ironic that some people who claim to be "open-minded" are some of the most closed-minded people you'll ever find when it comes to this issue.

we can't choose bodies we're stuck with what we got. That being said more power to transgender people I wish them the best. I do not take issue with surgical alterations hormone therapy not at all.

My approach to that is you do you.

That's not what I'm concerned about.

What worries me about just this topic is that this trans woman has to take not just enough hormones 2 alter her body to look more feminine but enough to make her lactate that is a lot and that's going to transfer to the baby probably not a good idea to breastfeed the child.

The only issue here is a child's physical health I don't care that one of his parents is transgender it's the hormones going into the infant's body.

That's it transgender people you do you you want to marry someone go for it you want to have kids no one can stop you. It's no one's place to stop you.

But you should put your child's health first.

That's it that's the only reason I'm commenting here.

And she/he breastfed...amazing...

I find it relatively benign that they can give a male body enough hormones to lactate lactating men it's not unheard of.

It's just out of the ordinary that's why there's an article written about it.

I mean, the story is a straight up lie. Trans women have been able to do this without surgery for years. YEARS.

This is nothing new. But the use of this to try and drum up fear of queer people is noted.

Alright, that's a little better. But let's understand that neither you nor I (as far as I know) are doctors. Is there a potential health risk to the baby? Perhaps, I'll give you that. But I intend to let the experts sort it out. I am sure that there are thousands of more serious cases that don't even make the local news.
