More braless women???

I like the recycling aspect.

But I grew up with Depression Era parents. Every thing is used until it has no possible uses. A playpen became a mulch holder. Brass tubing became wind chimes. A serving cart is now a potted plant holder.

Waste not....

That's not recycling, it's waste. He's just throwing them out. Or maybe just leaving them laying around, it wasnt clear on that point.

My parents were quite a bit like yours.

As for women wearing or not wearing bras, my wife, daughter, and granddaughter are all, shall we say, abundantly blessed. A few years ago my granddaughter was assaulted on the school bus. It seems that some of the boys wanted to know if she was for real so they ripped her blouse off.

How depressing to know things haven't changed since I was in school. I hope something was done about it, unlike when I had some boys tackle me to lift my skirt when I was in grade 8 - and I was wearing a long skirt that covered my ankles (it was a phase I went through, I had to wear a skirt once a week and the long ones were more comfortable)! The response from the teacher I reported it to and the principal? I was basically told that boys will be boys and I shouldn't be hanging around with them.

They got a slap on the wrist and my granddaughter had to ride in the front of the bus. She was bullied so bad for making the report she wanted to quit school.

She still has anxiety attacks, I don't know what causes it, she won't tell me but I am sure this didn't help.

High school sucks.

Oh my God. If any boy tries that stupid **** on me, they're getting a kick to the balls.

And that's ****ed up that that kind of behavior is pretty much excused in some places.

I think around here, that would be considered sexual assault, and the cops would get involved. I did hear stories from women that grew up in some of the southern states though.. (The princicple of the school did the 'boys will be boys line on her). I think she did seriously smash the boy that was harassing her that way at one point.

Having a dress code isn’t sexual misconduct. Though I also don’t have a problem with women going braless or showing cleavage. I haven’t found it distracting since I was a teenager.

I remember the 70's. U've been watching The Love Boat, and most, if not all women in that show don
t wear any bra.

Has it occurred to you that what is actually weird is that women are expected to mold their boobs into non-boob shapes in order to be "taken seriously"? If anything, bra shaping is rather silly. Think about the absurdity of that for a moment. Also, you do know that men nip out in the cold too, right?

It's also just fundamentally unfair to have a dress code mandate that only applies to some women, but not others. Some women with smaller breasts don't have cleavage, or large enough breasts that it's apparent whether they're wearing a bra, regardless of their neck line. Other women have such large breasts that they still have cleave even if they're wearing a very conservative blouse. We shouldn't be punishing only certain women for simply being born the way they are. Pick a dress code and apply it to everyone equally.

...And there's the heart of it, I think.

At the end of the day, this is only as much of an issue as people with an incessant need to control or comodify women's bodies make of it. Mature adults simply don't care that much about these things.

I have to agree, the little boys need to learn how to deal with their issues and stop expecting a free pass when they can't behave like grown men.
I had to learn, so everyone else does, too!

What about the roll of quarters in my shorts?

Pathetic that most of the men in this thread are OK with it because it visually pleases them, rather than the fact that bras can be uncomfortable to wear and that's why a lot more women aren't wearing them. Unless you truly need the support or you're doing a lot of physical activity, there isn't a big need for one. The wire can dig into your skin and over the course of the day it can hurt.

Jeeze don't you people have wives or at least girlfriends who've told you this stuff?

I'm an a old gal going on 66. First off bras are not uncomfortable when they fit correctly. Most young women don't have a clue how to shop for bras. Too many shop for the cute lacy panties and bra ensembles at places like Victoria Secret that doesn't fit them properly. Most haven't even bothered to be measured properly to know their proper size. So no wonder they feel uncomfortable! They are falling out of the bottom of the bra and the top of the bra and the damn itchy lace all the time is irritating some of the most sensitive skin on their bodies.

Go figure.

You are so so sooo very right.
"The girls" definitely need proper fitting and most women wear the wrong size, not just the number either, the wrong number, wrong cup, wrong everything, and the average crap you find in most stores isn't going to fit anyone but a mannequin either.

Just an anecdote from early education: if you bite them in the face, they'll never look you in the eyes again out of fear. And from you both being moved to different classes, where you no longer interact.

I've seen two guys walk into poles checking out my wife.

With a bra ON.

Not wearing one would pose a threat to public safety!

Just kidding. (And she approved this post).

As I get older,I find I like small firm breast ,that use to not catch my eye.

Bras suck. Unfortunately after wearing one almost every day for almost 30 years, its too late for me. I have DDs. I've actually hit a young boy (maybe 11/12) in the face with my breasts, in a bra and a shirt, as I turned a corner in the store I worked in. He looked a little stunned as I apologized. Left the area too fast to know his reaction after though.

Research is supporting though that going without a bra is better and healthier for women. It should be a choice and not enforced ever by any dress codes. I would fight against any such dress code as sexist, even if I choose to wear a bra myself.

Have you ever noticed that men and women are different?

If we have to ignore this fact in your world then I dont want in.

There is nothing that men should be forced to wear either. I'm against all gender specific dress codes. But a bra is certainly one that is absolutely ridiculous since it has nothing to do with actual appearance, since it is underwear. I highly doubt any dress code applying to men requires them to wear underwear of some kind (excluding the Navy when we had working whites).

We really aren't that different.

Honestly I don't even wear boxers that much if I'm wearing gym shorts or something. Wear whatever the **** is comfortable so long as you aren't out in public naked :lamo

I totally get that, LOL.

It is far from sadistic. It is game women have played since the dawn of humanity.

Watch young girls pretend that old men aren't looking as they parade in front of them, exercising their powers. :)

They only allow us to think we rule, and that is where it stops. "Wasn't I pretty as the Princess in Frozen, grandpa?" Say no, and you are dead meat. Your life will be over if you don't respond positively to the art of the flirt.

No it is not sadistic, it is not disgusting, it is not creepy, it is the art of empowerment. Part of life, and valid in the big game.

"No sweetie, you were a much prettier princess." - escaping the trap with decorum. Breathing easy for the moment. :)

SO "Do I lot fat in this?"
Me not paying attention, "Yes."
Me. Paying full attention."Ouch!!!!!!!!!! What the hell was that for!?!?"

What the hell does men and women being different have to do with anything I posted besides that such a policy is sexist? Did you fixate on that one part and ignore the rest? Bras do not provide any actual longterm benefit for women and can in fact hurt them and breast development. Having a rule that only applies to one sex/gender which in fact can harm them only in the name of "decency" is sexist. Men and women being different have zero to do with that. Some men can have breasts bigger than some women. How is their potential for showing them any different than women's? Men also all have nipples which can react to temperature differences. How is that different than women? Is it based on the potential reactions of others based on gender? That is sexist.
