Three More Men Accuse Kevin Spacey of Sexual Misconduct – Variety
No joke, that is the charge of misconduct. You see a lot of this kinda nonsense in the charges against Weinstein as well, though he sure looks like a pig. Spacey I have not made my mind up on.
From the article you linked:
Another accuser — a journalist who chose to remain anonymous — said he interviewed Spacey in the early 2000s and while all was normal while they were in the actor’s office at the Old Vic theater, Spacey invited him out to a club afterward. There, the journalist alleged, Spacey began groping him, reaching between his legs and grabbing his genitals. The journalist said he told Spacey that he was in a serious relationship with a woman and, when he tried to leave the club, Spacey was furious.
The journalist went on to say that he didn’t run a story about his sexual misconduct because he didn’t want to out Spacey as a gay man. He felt empowered to speak out only after Rapp went public.
Along with all these other stories about the accomplished veteran actor, what are the various lessons?
I pay special note I've not read in any of these confessions, the narrative typically recited online by what 99.99% of men? That being how if a guy even grazed their crotch with their hand they would beat him to a pulp.
Notice how many--presumably heterosexual--men went along the homoerotic in the hopes of advancing or not endangering their careers.
Does this surprise me? No.
Kevin Spacey and other young men probably used each other. Both wanting something out of the other. But now the willful submissive in the relationship wants to act all innocent. Probably, most culpability goes to the dominant, the seducer, particularly with his or her greater station and worldly power. But even the seduced has some minor degree of culpability.
The atheist story of being American might not know this. But the traditional, orthodox, Christian story of being of any nationality, ethnicity, race, or biological sex has long knew this. Why? Because they produced St. Maria Goretti. An 11 year-old girl my better and the better of many of us... and by "many of us" I mean men too.
Longer video, info, on her:
She was killed by her friend at age 11 who wanted to rape her, she refused & he stabbed her. Maria is the patron saint of chastity, rape victims, youth, teenage girls, poverty, purity & forgiveness.
The idea that because you are a man it makes you stronger is not necessarily true. Yes, stronger physically, stronger more "robust" bones to use ab anthropologist's term. But morally or emotionally men are not always the stronger of the two sexes.
You could put 100 American men together and they would be weaker than a Tulsi Gabbard. They need not sell themselves out to the dominate power of Kevin Spacey, they would do it for the dominate power of veteran actors in a political party.
