For the first time in its 64-year history, Playboy magazine will feature a transgender Playmate, a decision that Cooper Hefner, a top executive at the magazine, said on Thursday was in keeping with its founding mission of embracing changing attitudes about sex.

The French model Ines Rau, 26, will appear as the November centerfold in the first issue since the death of Hugh Hefner, Mr. Hefner’s father and the magazine’s founder.

This came across my twitter feed, and I have to say, I'm disappointed in some of the comments I saw attached to it. She is an extremely beautiful woman, and from what I saw there is no way to tell she is trans. I applaud playboy, who has had trans women in their magazine before, btw. And for those who think Hugh would have never allowed this, she was chosen two months before his death. And he has a history of pushing the envelope, if you read the article it shows some of the comments sent in letters after Hugh featured the first black playmate in the 60s. They sound alot like some of the comments I read on my twitter feed today, let that sink in. And note, Playboy didn't suffer a lick when they did it, despite what the racist haters cried out as they cancelled subscriptions in the 60s.

Anyone butthurt over this needs to take a step back, and wonder if it's really trans people they have a problem with or their own sexuality. Because it sounds like most people are angry at playboy for making them attracted to a trans woman. Otherwise what's the beef, flip the page and move on. No one is forcing you to jerk off to naked women in the first place, why rain on everyone else's parade that have no problem being attracted to a beautiful woman regardless of what gender she was born.

This fap is for you Ines Rau, and may many others follow suit.

Playboy has not been relevant in a lot of years.

This will not help.

Wow. OP attacks non-existent thread 'haterz', then accuses anyone who doesn't want to look at pictures of nude trans people as sexually confused/insecure.

I wonder what makes you so concerned on whether a nudie magazine is relevant or not. It has naked women in it, it's not Time. What I find more relevant is that enough people are concerned about what men jerk off to, that have to openly shame a beautiful person for fulfilling a life long dream of having men jerk off to her.

If we are relying on porn to push social change, that says a lot more about how men view women in society than anything else. I see this as more of a reflection of changing attitudes from real work done by the "relevant" people fighting for trans equality.

If no one told you she was trans, you wouldn't know it. So ya, if you have a problem with looking at her just because she's trans, you're insecure.

1. She's not my type.
2. Without touching up her photos with editing software, she doesn't look completely passable as a woman. In a bar I'd probably be able to figure it out.

1. You only jerk off to women who are your exact type?

2. You assume you're in her league if you were to meet in a bar? Why because she's trans and she would be lucky for any guy to hit on her?

If I were to meet her in a bar, I wouldn't be checking her out to make sure she was "passable". I'd just enjoy her company, if she chose to share mine. That's what being secure is.

I am claiming that this is a gimmick, which will flop, like just about everything else Playboy has tried to do in recent history in their attempts to stay afloat.

I'm mildy surprised that Playboy is still a thing.

As long as men like looking at boobs, I'm pretty sure Playboy will remain a thing. It's less of a guilty pleasure than looking at hardcore porn, and no one's wife is going to pitch a fit if they find a playboy in the top of the closet.

That's cool. She isn't my cup of tea but then that is true of most women in Playboy.

I as concerned that I was wrong when I noticed that the Breitbart story on this has 13,000 comments....till I looked at the comments.

And boom, the perfect example of what a secure males response looks like when they themselves would not use her pictures for tug of war with the one eyed snake. Thank You Skeptic Bob.

You'll have to enlighten me as to the type of comments this received on Breitbart. I'm not automatically assuming a white nationalist and a transphobe are the same thing. And I've never been to Breitbart.

Good for Playboy! good for the girl! Non issue really

Looks like a dude with tits. Might as well be a boar hog.

Ines Rau won't be the first guy pretending to be a chick to be in Playboy.

Factually accurate, yet still offensive. Amazing.

Yes I am sure dudes pretending to women get offended when someone points out the fact they are pretending to be women.

I was referring to the playboy has had trans models before part being accurate. The offensive part is claiming they are pretending. Science has come back on that one, they aren't pretending they are correcting an accident of birth.

Just looked at a bunch of pictures of her

They are pretending to be women. Its no different than someone who modifies their body to look like another race or species.

LMAO well once again you prove how severely uneducated you are on this topic when you make such a retarded and factually inaccurate claim but as always, its hilarious.:lamo
Facts and medical science disagree with you.

Why shouldn’t sex objects be male?
