"Harvard Says Chelsea Manning Can Still Visit, But Not as a Fellow". Well, duh...

This headline is spectacular comedy.

The wonderful thing about this is that they cannot see the ironic high comedy of this statement.

Marvelous!

This is kind of old news. If this irony has already been discussed, please excuse the repeat.

It does sound funny, but they don't mean "fellow" as in male. It's just an academia term.

How does an Army enlisted (E-3) get access to national defense type documents, (secret, top secret, tippy top secret)? If you have a pulse, the first year in the Army gets you at least an E-3 rating. What is the Harvard connection to all this? The services usually screen for brains and if brains are detected usually officer training is offered?!

"Tippy top secret." :lamo

I don't understand why Harvard is courting Manning in the first place. This person committed treasonous acts, was convicted, sentenced, and incarcerated, all according to applicable law.

The decision to pardon them was purely a liberal / progressive excessive PC motivated move by Obama.

Being or becoming transgender should become a 'get out of jail free' card.

The clearance level for service members depends on their job, not on their rank. Officers depend on the enlisted personnel who do the actual intelligence gathering for the information needed to make decisions. Enlisted service members are not as dumb as you seem to think.

I had a secret clearance within a month as a E-2 at my first duty station in Argentia Newfoundland so I could go into the "T" building for maintenance on the A/C plant.

....and not only discriminatory of man made women, I should think.

My thoughts would be that the school wants its students to have a first hand look at a traitor, hear what it says led to the actions and what justification the delinquent produces. It cannot really be based on academic achievement of that person, as everyone in the classes would have better ones.

Because academia is so far removed from reality, they think of treason as just another social program to staff up so they can fleece liberal fat cats dumb **** children with dumb **** degrees to enter the revolving door of government with.

You meant "shouldn't"?

You're really broadbrushing academia here. This is Harvard we're talking about, and it's quite the little hotbed. This isn't so of all academic institutions.

Well, I was poking fun at the level of idiocy present in the thinking or lack thereof of our academics.

They are so close to the topics and so serious about them, they just can't see the humor present.

Oh, well...

I suppose my sophomoric delight is just a tad immature.

Maybe I'll grow up some day.

Hard to argue against this logic, we see the what is reaped from the liberal / progressive indoctrination rife in the education system with the antics of AntiFa.
