Hypothetically speaking, you're at a bar with your significant other, and she's in a conversation with a group of friends, both male and female (you're off to the side with another group of friends or something), when one of the males in the group tries to kiss her. How would you react?

We are longtime swingers you see....

Are we talking a European style greeting type kiss or are we into "drunk guy decides he should make out with my wife" territory?

If the former then I just go with the flow.

If the latter, and my wife has shown disapproval, I'll pull the guy aside and explain to him that if he ever tries that again the consequences will be decidedly unpleasant.

If the latter, and my wife seems to be into it, I'll leave her bitch ass right there and hit the road never to be seen again.

No SO at present, but most of the gals I hang with are perfectly capable of tearing a verbal strip off, or knocking a guy's teeth out thru his nose, as the situation requires.

So probably, catch her eye and see if she signals me to step in.

If so, take the guy aside and have a quiet word about how this wasn't appropriate and Bad Things could happen on repeat.

I'm married so my reaction would be dramatically more volatile, but even if I was just dating her, I would be jumping out of my chair and chewing his ass out. Totally unacceptable, especially if he knew you two came together.

I'd ask him loud enough for everyone to hear.......... where was my kiss...... since me and the wife are a package.

I'm getting to old to be rolling around on the floor fighting with some asshole.

I'm looking at it from the opposite:
First I'd want to know if she knew he was married or with someone.
If yes, they just opened a can of whoop ass
If no, I'd make sure she knew. If that didn't seem to matter to her, see option 1

Increasingly avoid bars/parties as you age. Nothing good happens with mass alcohol consumption. [voice of experience]

IOWs, you and she are partially responsible for creating the situation.

First, it'd depend if it's a friend or if it's a random guy? That can affect the equation and assumptions I make a fair bit.

If it's a friend, but it seems like a sincere attempt, then I'm probably saying something rather angrily and aggressively. If it seems like something where the two of them are joking around about something, then I probably let it play out and/or my wife handle it if needed.

If it's a random guy, I'm making sure I stay near by but I generally let my wife take care of it. Granted, never been a "kiss" thing; but it's how we handle things like guys trying to dance up on her beyond what she's comfortable with, or hitting on her a ton by the bar. She likes knowing I'm near by, that I'm watching, and that I'm ready to step in if she gives me the right non-verbal cue; but she generally can take care of herself. If he CONTINUED, or she gave me a signal that she wasn't going to be able to handle it, I'd slip in there and have a word with him and it'd escalate as necessary.

I'd trust my S O to do the right thing.

Beforehand or after you retract your tongue from out of his throat?

I'm assuming it's clear from her body language she's not into it?

Then I let her handle it in whatever manner she chooses. My wife's an adult and she'll let me know if she wants me to step in.

I'd punch the bastard in the face to show him the territory's taken, then I'd take the missus out back and reassert my dominance of said territory.

I sit back and watch as she removes his man berries with a plastic cocktail sword and breaks a pool cue off in his squeak hole. :coffeepap
