Question for the minority here that support banning transgenders in the military.

How do you think the current transgenders in the military should be handled, what do you think is right and just?

1. Honorable discharge with full VA benefits.

2. Bonus pay out of remaining service contract (ex. if they signed up for four years, they get severance pay of whatever balance of that time remains including accrued leave time.)

3. Priority for Federal civil service hiring opportunities.

(Edit: I've already agreed they can stay...albeit preferably in the non-combat MOS's. The above is posted as my suggestion for recompense if the full ban is enforced.)

Like I said before...... welcome aboard shipmate!

Shut up, do your job, but don't expect free elective surgeries as part of your enlistment.

And, as your skills develop, you will be handed more responsibilities and respect among your peers.

So you are saying you don't support "the supposed banning" then?

I can't believe we (in general, not as in you and me) even have to argue this point. Accepting/keeping trans people in the military is one thing, expecting the military (aka taxpayers) to pay for a sex change is too much.

And before it comes up, we shouldn't be paying for Viagra either.

I welcomed anyone in my engine rooms who were "about" running the plant and keeping their shipmates safe at night while they were sleeping by demonstrating the competence to observe and react to the ever changing parameters, and being on top of possible mechanical malfunctions before they became catastrophes.

Who you call "sweetheart" or where you tuck your meat, had little meaning to me if you were a good shipmate and looked out for your other "snipes" down in the engine rooms. It's a different world down there, and we are all a little "off" for wanting to be there to begin with. It's hot & dirty, and nobody notices you until the shower water doesn't come on, or the A/C breaks down.

Yes we should be paying for Viagra, and here's why.

13% of active duty are suffering from PTSD. 80% of PTSD patients have ED.

There are another 540 thousand not on active duty who suffer from PTSD.

It's a small token to offer after you sent a person into Iraq/Afghanistan for 3-4 tours and have had limbs blown off, or are just suffering from all the experiences they have been exposed to.

It's a non starter in my honest opinion.

You can call me a *****, but I think that if you broke it..................you bought it.

Ok so yes you are against the ban, thanks!

On a side note I was just down your way. I got to go on the USS Arlington and USS John Warner. It was awesome!

Re: Question for the small minority here who support banning transgenders in the mili

You know, it's not about Banning Transgenders in the military, it's looking at the reality of what is needed to transition successfully and the realities of military needs. There are a litany of medical conditions that prevent one from serving, because the logistical issues in supporting that service member cannot be guaranteed. That's my stance on it.

Is this actually a thing?

Re: Question for the small minority here who support banning transgenders in the mili

I have no problem with anyone who volunteers for the military.

I do object to the elective surgery like the Bradley Manning waste of funds.

The job of the military is to break things and kill people.

Any money spent that does not contribute to the successful execution of their mission is money wasted.

When did the military become a social experimentation agency?

In a word, no. It's about a distractino from the Russia investigation. Full stop.

How do you think the current transgenders in the military should be handled, what do you think is right and just?

How am I supposed to answer the question when the so called experts put the number at someplace between 1,500 and 12,000??

Tell me what the situation is, then I will tell you how I think we should deal with it.

Tell me what the situation is, then I will tell you how I think we should deal with it.

1.) easy pick a number, pick three numbers, not sure why it matters
2.) see above, tell me how do you think the current transgenders in the military should be handled, what do you think is right and just?

if its 1500
if its 7500
if its 12000

Not all transgender people are transsexuals.j

And before it comes up, we shouldn't be paying for Viagra either.
I'm not sure that is a problem

Admittedly, there's a lot I don't understand. To me, transsexual has always meant going through the surgery. Either way, I'm pretty well convinced that there would not be a massive amount of people joining the military just to have the surgery.

An intelligent, well thought out response from someone intimately knowledgeable on the subject. Our resident liberals will go into full blown TDS knee jerk melt-down after reading this.

Obviously not there are easier ways to have surgery.

It seems like every day the term transgender gets broader

It kills me when people who lie and oppress the LGBTQ community try to act like they are defending them. But they only spread lies about them.
